The last few times I got my hair cut, my stylist sprayed it with heat protecting spray. I got some because I blow dry my hair every couple days and use a curling iron most days, at least on the ends. But do you guys think it really makes a difference and protects my hair, or is it just a gimmick?
And if it does work, how much am I supposed to spray on? In the volumizing videos that XtinaStyles posted, that girl sprayed a lot. I usually use like 3 sprays for my entire head.

BeautyBrains is an amazing blog! I use a heat protectant by Paul Mitchell but only before I straighten my hair. Otherwise, I use the Weather Seal by John Freida, which is a really light lotion. I use them because whenever I blowdry or straighten I get a lot of frizzies from broken or fried hair, so the lotions and sprays protect and tame.
