I have really thick curly hair, so I usually only wash it 3 times a week- sometimes more if I've been sweating a lot from working out or something. I know it sounds gross, but with curly hair I find washing it any more makes it really dry and dull looking!
Every day. If I don't, I'm greasy and disgusting. Plus, I work out every night and I'm pretty sweaty by the end of my workouts, so it's pretty necessary.
I wash about every other day or every third day even though I have very fine hair. Some people are able to go alot longer, particularly if they have curly hair which tends to need moisture.
I recently read an interesting article about going a while without washing hair to "train it" - lots of women reported they had MORE volume, more waves, didn't need styling products, etc while others say it was the lowest their self-esteem has ever been.
That's interesting. At my last appointment, my hairdresser said that my hair is very well trained in the style that I've had since last summer. I wonder if that's because of my not washing it daily. It HAS been much easier to style lately. It's wavy in the front and curly in the back. I've had to put in so much less effort when I've wanted to wear it straight (which is 90% of the time). It flat irons a lot quicker now.
I did the hair experiment back in the Fashion Hag days! Prior to that I always washed every day. It was so difficult to switch but it's made my life so much easier. I can sometimes go 2 days without washing depending on the weather.
I wash every few days and it truly looks best on the last day. I have fine, wavy hair that never really gets greasy even though I put a lot of product in it. On the day that I am about to wash, it looks shiny, soft, and bouncy. I wish I had a great dry shampoo to prolong that look, but I have yet to come across one that I like.
fairywings - if it looks so good on the last day and doesn't get greasy, can I ask why you wash it on that day? Is it because you have products in it, or you just feel like you should wash it after all the time? Or is that the last day it looks good?

My hair is fine and I wash it every other day if I use my flat iron. Iam not sure why maybe bc the heat of the iron??? If I dont flat iron sometimes I put a little baby powder in it and brush through it
I do every other day, on weekends I dont usually wash it. I honestly dont feel I need to wash my hair more than a few times a week , it is really thick and styles better on day 2 and 3.
Ditto... except my hair isn't thick. I have a thick head of hair, but the strands are fine. The same thing applies though - my hair looks better on days two and three. I could probably get away with a fourth day if I didn't use any product and air-dried, but I can't get myself to try it.
Once a day or it just doesn't right and at the end of the second day I feel like it's looking lank and greasy. I have fine straight hair but lots of it. I've always been really jealous of girls whose hair does better washing it every few days. I do admit in the weekends if i'm not doing much I leave it.
I heard once from a chinese medicine expert that using oils of your hair actually eventually stops it from being either too dry OR greasy but I haven't tried it.

Me, too. I can usually wash my hair every three to four days. My hair is really thick, too and also behaves so much better on day 2 and 3 for me.
