i am very excited about how the draft/mock-up for my invites came out, so i wanted to post them! it really feels "real" that we are getting married now that i see our names written out on an invitation.

Those are really beautiful, did you make them yourself? I know you said in another post you are a designer, I am too! I make wedding invitations on the side of being an art assistant at a publishing company in Chicago. I am hoping to run an invitation making business out of my home in the next few years. Really pretty invites!
Those are beautiful.... I know it is weird to see your names on the invitations....I sent out my invites in the mail today and it seems like the wedding is more real now....2 months
i wrongly assumed that the stationery would be one of the most painless wedding-related items.... this is what i have after about ten drafts! i am not 100% sold on the paper used for the band around the invitation and response card, but the invite itself is definitely in final draft. i'll just be so happy to finally send these puppies out!

Did you make them yourself?! I loooove them. Do you sell wedding invitations? I would love to have an idea of pricing if you do!
hotcocoa - no need for illness, i definitely didn't do the calligraphy myself! i wish! it's something i have always wanted to do as well. when i first got engaged, i had planned to take a course so that i could do my own envelopes, but i just haven't had the time. someday i do hope to learn though - it's such an amazing art! it's actually just a lovely font in the linotype family.
doveanunu - i did make them myself. part of the reason that i haven't been around on the forum much is that i expanded my business about 6 months ago to include wedding invitations and i am super busy with about 20 bride clients at this time (who knew this would be so demanding!) - i really love it and am thinking that within the next few years i might shift exclusively to doing wedding-related stationery. anyway, i figured if i was making wedding invitations for other brides, why not make my own! if you are interested in talking wedding paper, feel free to PM me!
