obsessing over men's formalwear

so yeah, tuxedos are only to be worn after 6...my wedding is at 2.  but the only men's formalwear option that i even like is plain, simple, normal, traditional black tuxedos.  what to doooo??

there will be NO khakis and blue blazers, seersucker, linen or any of that "summer daytime" crap that seems to be suggested for people in my situation.  i think some of that is fine for a beach wedding, but i'm getting married in a church.  it may be afternoon, but it will be relatively formal.

i thought about just asking the groomsmen to wear their own dark suits, but i'm anal and i really want the uniformity of cut, fabric, etc. of everyone wearing the same thing.

i think those morning suits look costumey, and they have been vetoed by the groom.

i just want something traditional, 2 button, no tails, no frou frou ties, no white waiter jackets, just something normal!  aaahhhhh...i cannot let the groomsmen outfits stress me out this much!!

my wedding is at 2 as well but the reception starts at 6:30 therefore I am going with normal old black tuxes for the guys. I say screw the rules and go with what you want!

not sure if this helps, but we are getting married outside at 2:30 on a sunday and the groom and groomsmen will be wearing the exact suit that is pictured in the center here (it's by after hours), with black straight ties -

i think that a suit-style tux, like these, is better for an earlier in the day ceremony, but ultimately it is up to you.

a friend of ours got married last summer in an outdoor 4-pm ceremony and her groomsmen/groom wore tails! (i totally cringed at this, but that is just my *personal* reaction) so that just supports that you should do what you like best (and what looks best on your groom)!

Hi
A reputable shop will own their inventory and maintain it, not be a middleman that wholesales (sub-contracts) the tuxedo. They will have a professional tailor on the premises so that they can accommodate any alterations that need to be done. Your formalwear specialist should be knowledgeable regarding every phase of the rental process from the first hello until the day you return the garment.
