I've heard that the Britax ones are the best/safest available....but I know they are also pricey. I think the Diplomat and the Boulevard have the highest ratings...also heard good things about the Roundabout (all from Britax).

Britax are supposed to be the best. I'll be getting one when my son grows out of his infant car seat.

I have a Britax Marathon and LOVE it! I thought it was totally worth the $$.

We went to a local baby store and tried ours in the car before we bought it. I also know BabiesRUs lets you do that.

Iam hoping that some of our stores have them. We have Target, Sears, JcPennys. We dont have alot of good stores.

Our Target has them...you should be ok. I know they make a few "compact" models as well.

we have both the britax marathon and roundabout for our two kids. they are both excellent. the roundabout is a bit smaller if you're worried about size. i cannot imagine a car that it would not fit into - i rented a ford focus once and both carseats fit into it. hth!
