so i moved to chicago in august and i tried a couple of salons for highlights and i'm not super-impressed. i tried salon 1800 and the first time it looked good and the next time it was awful. the next time i went to orbitz and it's been ok, but nothing like my old stylist in philly. i usually pay $200 a pop, and i'm willing to pay that, but it's too much to go back three weeks later because they didn't get close enough or didn't get the color right.
do you have any recommendations of salons/stylists, preferably in the city (i live in lakeview).
should i try the aveda salon? i have heard that they do a good job, i'm just super picky about hair, but i would love to save the money if i could.
thanks so much and enjoy the weather today.

I live in Lakeview too - I have heard great things about the Aveda Salon, and also, there is a hair salon called Gena Celli right next to my apartment bldg that I've heard good things about. Gena Celli is on the corner of Sheffield & Wolfram.
One place I would personally advise you to stay away from is Michael Anthony over by North & Sheffield. I went there one and what a terrible experience. The girl who colored my hair was a witch and she totally didn't listen to what I wanted. HTH!
Hmm I live in Lakeview too!! I go to Fuga salon and I absolutely love it there. Here is a link to the website, they are doing my hair and make up for my wedding as well. They offer you cappucino and wine when you're getting your hair done too. I love the little touches.
