Wow, thanks you guys! I was kind of worried about living up to the very high standards of style you ladies all have, so such a warm welcome was really nice! Great answers too.

Welcome!!! We have girls (and one guy?) of all ages here! I think I speak for everyone when I say that age don't mean sh*t! I love this board because eveyone is extremely nice (but NOT fake) and honest (v. important when it comes to clothes). Age is a non-issue here! Have fun!
okay, here's me:
age: 24
location: ohio
style icon: Kate Moss
fav accessory: I can't choose just one...probably my collection of colorful purses & my jewelry
fav clothing: dark brown suede pencil skirt (from a thrift store!), ALL of my jeans, my burnt orange cord blazer, v-neck eggplant-purple cashmere Theory sweater, all things v-neck.
designers: Nanette Lepore, Vivier (shoes), Manolo, Marc Jacobs
inspirations: Stylethread!!!
My mom: She is amazing: I used to be so embarrased by her eccentric style, but now I truly respect & love her for it. She only wears what she likes & could care less what anyone else thinks of her. She's got guts and nowdays, I'm proud to be "seen in public" with her. I wish I could get over my insecurities about the way I look/what others think of me.
My grandma: She was so classy, proper & put together; she always looked so elegant. When i was little, she would tell me that no matter where you are going (the grocery store, the airport, shopping, a restaurant, etc) if you dress your best you get the best of everything. I still take her advice on this, and have even tested it out & it's true! When i would do something "un-lady-like," as a child, (burp or swear) her response was always "that's rude, crude, and un-attractive." I used to laught it off, but now I realize how right she is (now if only I could follow this advice when it comes to cigaretttes!)
Hi, I'm new here too, so I thought this would be a good way to introduce myself, too.
age- 19
location- Rhode Island
style icon- Sarah Jessica Parker, absolutely. I also love Sarah Michelle Gellar's red carpet style (I adore how she updates simple, classic silhouettes with bright colors) Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O have such classic, simple, elegant style.
favourite accessory- I love wrapping a long piece of ribbon or a colorful scarf around my wrist as a bracelet-- I just think it's a fun look. And I can't forget about shoes, of course!
favourite piece of clothing- any tanks or tees that can be layered. I LOVE experimenting with what colors look good with each other and I just plain old love the look of layering.
favourite designer- I've always admired Chanel from afar (maybe someday I'll be able to afford it), and Vera Wang designs the most beautiful dresses!
inspiration- Lucky magazine always shows me ways to wear things that I never would have thought would work. I love the way Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson dress in the OC. Since I discovered Style Thread forum, all of you have been an inspiration, as well.
