But you look so much prettier in person than you do in photographs.
That's how Girlshop.com owner Laura Eisman feels about the stellar inventory on her website. Which is why she's just opened the first Girlshop boutique in a converted art gallery in the Meatpacking District: so shoppers can see just how incredible her stock looks and fits.
Yes, you'll find the same trendy designers as you do online (Ginger and Java, Lotta, Cigana, Subversive, Plenty, Alicia Lawhon, Pete, Foley, and LaRok). But the shop also sells a highly edited selection of clothing and accessories from up-and-comers like Pegah, Editte Keshishyan, Alka Vora, and Bulga.
Everything is meticulously arranged in a comfy, retro lounge-like setting. Details such as pineapple wallpaper, a brocade sofa, and mirrored curtains around the dressing rooms lend a fun and friendly vibe. And then there's that whole try-it-before-you-buy-it thing.
But you'll just have to see it to believe it.

Of course, I see here people have had some trouble with them lately. If anyone checks it out, let us know how it is. Thanks!
