Song suggestions?
Permalink Closed

I'm working on a project and I could use some help... I know this isn't a lot to go on, but I need:

a song that would be considered "High energy"
a song about "loyalty" or "friendship"

They don't have to be new songs either...any time period would be fine.

Does anyone have thoughts or suggestions for either category? I'm stumped!

how cheesy do you want to get? Amy Grant did a song called That's what Friends are for back in the 90s.

ooh!  i know, Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" is about friendship and loyalty...also:

"thank you (fallettinme be myself)" sly and the family stone

and outkast's "bombs over baghdad" is pretty darn high energy, so is lenny kravitz's "are you gonna go my way" black crowe's "hard to handle"

still thinking...HTH for now...

one of the most high energy songs i can think of "the end of the world as we know it" by REM.

how about "lean on me" for a song about loyalty/friendship? or "you're my best friend" by queen.

High Energy (to me): Hey Ya  - Outkast / What is Love - Haddaway / Be My Lover - La Bouche / This is the Night - Amber / Hot in Herre - Nelly / Crazy in Love - Beyonce / Seven Nation Army - White Stripes / Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet / Cold Hard Bitch - Jet / Mr. Brightside - The Killers / Ready, Steady, Go - The Meices / Sugarhigh - Coyote Shivers / That Great Love Sound - The Raveonettes / Where'd You Go - Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Loyalty & Friendship: One Sweet Day - Boyz II Men & Mariah Carey / Friends Theme / Maps - Yeah Yeah Yeahs (in a disturbed kinda way) / Hold On - Sarah McLachlan / Good Enough - Sarah McLachlan / I Will Remember You - Sarah McLachlan (last one I promise!) / If You Wanna Be My Lover - Spice Girls (cheesy but it's about friends)

Okay, that's all I can think of right now

how about "thank you for being a friend"--the theme to the "golden girls"? ha!

and for super-uptempo, how about that ceasars song that is in an ipod commercial lately--i think it's called "jerk it out."

Thank you all so much for this. I'm going to need to spend some time with iTunes because I'm not familiar with some of the songs...but the Golden Girls one is hilarious.

And if you have any other song ideas, Blanche and I will be out on the "lenai".

Did anyone suggest James Taylor - "You've Got a Friend" or "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story?
