wow, that's amazng rlutz! i think that's so great that u can do that these days! i met my SO at my cousin's SO's bday party. my cousin told me all her SO's friends were either married or engaged so when i met this guy i assumed he was unavailable, so even though i thought he was cute i didn't give him too much attention. at dinner we sat together w/ my cousin & her SO & my cousin proceeded to drill him w/ questions about himself including whether or not he had a girlfriend (my cousin is the next Barbara Walters, i swear!). he said no & i perked up. later at the club i tried to talk to him some more but we kept getting separated & i ended up talking to this gross (short) foreign guy who wouldn't go away. i felt bad cuz it probably looked like i was flirting w/ someone else right in front of him, but eventually we got to dance together & had fun. then i had to drive him & my cousin's SO's friends home (they came in same car) because they were all drunk & he sat up front w/ me (even tho it wasn't his car). we talked some more & when i dropped them off he asked for my number very sweetly (i could tell he was so nervous). he called the next day & asked me out to dinner. after dinner we rented a movie (it was a sunday night, not much to do) & went back to my place to watch it. he didn't try ANYTHING the whole time! i was so impressed, especially cuz the movie sucked & it woulda been perfectly acceptable to make out during it! anyways, at the end of the night we kissed & he said "well, i guess i'll be coming out next weekend then" (he lives 2 hrs away). that was when i knew he was a keeper... we've been together a tad over 2 months now.
I wasn't going to share because I always feel like such a geek but i see that others have similar stories.....
I met my husband on a journal/pic rating site (swydm.com....swydm stand for "so would you do me?" so lame). He initially messaged me because of my car. I was in Japan at the time and was driving a Skyline (bad ass japanese import). At first I didn't like him because I thought he was just another perverted dude (what else would I expect from a site called So Would You Do Me?). I talked to him occasionally but most of the time I would ignore him if he messaged me. One night I let him call me...I was drunk. We talked for a couple of hours, which wasn't cheap considering I was in Japan and he was in FL. We hit it off and talked on a regular basis and about a month later we decided that we weren't going to see other people. After dating via phone for like six months I went to visit him in Florida and it was so awesome. It wasn't like I'd never spent time with him in real life...it was so familiar and just like I hadn't seen him in a long time, not like we'd never met. I've never felt so instantly comfortable around anyone before. Like a month later we were engaged and we got married as soon as I came back to the states, which was about a year after we started dating and about six months after we first met. I knew we were meant for each other, but I was a bit hesitant because we had spent so little time together but now we've been married for about a year and a half and I couldn't be happier!
It was at school, we had a joint event with my club, and his frat. We both were setting up. I thought at first he was rude, just to guy. But then I talked to him later that night and he was pretty cool. Then he kept turning up at places that i was and he asked for my number. From there we hung out everyday. But he kept asking me out and I kept saying no til finally I asked him out. So now he always tells people I am the one who chased him. Yeah OKAY. Anyways now we have been together for a year and a half.
We met through mutual friends on Halloween and went to a Halloween party. He went to high school with me, and said that he would always admire me in HS but never "had the balls to come talk to me"
did I answer this yet? 9th grade PE and honors English. He asked me to be his square-dance partner and I turned him down(already had a partner). I couldn't date until I was 16 so he just hung around until then. We've been friends almost 10 years and married for about 10 months.

Wow, my husband and I met in a yahoo chat room. I was 20 and still living with my parents, in fact they had just internet access.
My friends were going into chat rooms and I thought it would be kind of funny to go into one, so I logged and asked if anyone was from Cali, of course I got a lot of responses but there was one that caught my attention. He private messaged me and I gave him my phone number (stupid I know). We ended up talking for hours that day and soon it became everyday.
He was originally from Cali but the navy had him stationed in Norfolk, VA so I only got to actually see him twice before we got married and I ended up moving to VA with him (what was I thinking)??
Well, 5 years later we're still married and living back in Cali
I was moved next to my SO for talking too much in class, we became friends and he asked me to homecoming junior year of high school. We have been together for 12 years...went to different colleges, lived in different cities, but since I finished my master's degree we have lived together, bought an apartment and got a dog (see avatar). We are getting married in September.
I went to our college film festival during my junior year. I loved my now SO's film and stayed after to talk to him. I asked a mutual friend to introduce me. My now SO kissed the back of my hand when he met me and invited me out to celebrate his victory (he won the film festival). We have been together 4.5 years and we have been living together for 1.5 years! yay!
