Question for ladies who have been pregnant
Permalink Closed

How did you feel around the time you were supposed to have your period?  My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant again and this week I was supposed to have my period.  I have had a lot of the symptoms of a period, but a little different.  My boobs hurt SO bad, I am extremely moody, tired, and instead of cramps I have had a dull ache in my lower stomach for about 3 days, which is why I thought I was getting my period.  Today the pain is gone, but my boobs still hurt.  I just took a pregnancy test and it was positive.  I can't help but be paranoid of every little pain and ache (I misscarried last March).  Just looking for a little advice on how you felt during the week you were supposed to get your period but then found out you were pregnant.  I hope that makes sense.  PM me if you don't feel like posting.
Thanks!

Umm... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! smile

It's totally common to feel like you are going to get your period but it never arrives.

Some mild cramping is normal. Some bleeding is normal. It's only a bad sign if they happen at the same time.

Relax and enjoy!!

I've not been pregnant myself but I've also heard a thousand times that pregnancy symptoms are astonishingly like period symptoms (so tricky!).  Most of the people I know have felt those period feelings for a good week or so, and sometimes then it tapers off to ... nothing.  Which is understandably disconcerting!  But lots of people don't have any other noticeable symptoms start in until after 6 weeks.

Congratulations!  I'm hoping really hard this is it for you!

I didn't have many pregnancy symptoms (very fortunate!), but when I first tested, my boobs were sore and heavy! Pregnancy symptoms definitely make you feel like you're getting your period... but then you don't.

Anywho, CONGRATS!!! My DS is two weeks old now, and it's been hard, hard, hard! Oh yeah, and tiring too, so enjoy being pregnant and pampered! Rest as much as you can too.

Thanks ladies!  It's going to be really hard not to worry about every little thing this time, but I am going to try to stay positive!  I'm going to make a Dr. apt. asap.  I'll keep you posted!  Thanks for all the advice!

I think this could be it for you too!  The two biggest symptoms for me were the soreness in the chest and being soo tired.  I always felt just as you described the first weeks of each of my 3 pregnancies.  Keep us posted!

Congrats!! What your going through is totally normal. If you don't already have it, buy the book "What to Expect When Your Expecting"!! It will ease a lot of your concerns!!

Oh Sabrina, I'm so happy for you. After you sent me that letter, I prayed for you and hubby, that you would be blessed with a baby. Congratulations!! Oh and back to the original topic, I felt cramping and even had light spotting. My boobs were so sore that I had to shower with a bikini top on.

Rosie, I really want to say thank you so much for that.  It is an amazing feeling to find out that not only our family and friends, but a friend out there in "cyber space" is praying for us.  It means so much and reminds me why I love stylethread so much!  Thanks everyone for the congrats and well wishes!

Thanks for the experience advice too, and I thought my boobs were sore...wow Rosie!!

Rar210, yes I do have the book.  smile  I need to start reading it again!

Hi...just realized I didn't answer your question..
right now I'm feeling some mild cramping
and my breast feel very heavy..
I'm also very very tired....but before I found out I was pregnant I had gotten into a workout routine..so I'm not as tired this time around as I was the first time.
If you can, maybe try walking or doing some sort of mild exercise it really will help.

My first pregnancy sounds a lot like your...sore boobs, cramping, moody..
don't worry you'll be fine...just try to relax and enjoy this moment..
congrats!

Congratulations!  I don't recall feeling any cramping symptoms, but all of the rest of your symptoms sound familiar.  I really didn't feel well in that first month at all.
