Hello everyone... this is my first post, even though I've been reading for the past couple of weeks now (you girls inspire me, you are all so fashionable!).


I am going to a family wedding on Maui in September ( i know it's only March but I'm excited). The wedding is going to be semi-casual and I have been looking for a dress to wear.  I found one from Speigel that I like but I don't know if it's too dressy for a beach wedding.  How is their CS/quality?  I've never ordered anything from them.


Tiered Silk Dress by James Coviello, $69.00


I have also been eyeing this dress from Le Redoute but am afraid I'd look too much like a tourist...


 


What are your thoughts/opinions?  Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Ooooh, I love the first dress! I think you could make it more beachy looking with some coral or turquoise jewelry and maybe even a seashell bracelet or earrings. The dress will be versatile and you could wear it for other occassions, whereas the Hawaiian print dress does look too "touristy".

I love the dress and think it would be great for a Maui wedding.


As far as Spiegel quality goes I can't really attest to what it's like but my mom has a ton of stuff from years ago from there, but she usually only wears things once or twice so it's hard to say how well it holds up. But I am pretty sure it will not fall apart that day or anything.

I really, really love that first dress and I think that it's fine for a beach wedding. I definitely prefer it to the printed one. I don't know anything about Spiegel quality but I haven't heard any complaints. Anyway, I think it's an awesome choice. And welcome to the board!!

That first dress is awesome! What a great find! I can totally see it for a beachy wedding. You have every reason to be excited.


I agree with the other girls, the second dress does scream tourist.

What a pretty dress - good find.  I think it's perfect, and probably a good price.  Go for it.  You'll get some good use out of it this summer.
