Man! I'd love to have those clear boxes too, but I'd have to buy the WHOLE store, I have over 200 prs. of shoes.....

I dont do this but I should...My mom buys those clear boxes at our local store Lowe's. If they are winter shoes and we are in summer then she puts them up on a shelf. But if its the opposite then the summer shoes are on the shelves and the winter ones are on the floor in their boxes stacked up. The clear boxes help a lot because then you can see which is which!

Mine are spread everywhere all over the floor!! It is a nightmare to find anything, I just don't have room to stack them, my closet is overflowing with stuff! I need to find a better way too! Or move somewhere with better closets!
I broke down and bought clear boxes (at the dollar store) and then label the front of them with a label maker. I have a ton of shoes, but you can store 2 pairs in one box (say flat sandals). I also bought the big flat underbed storage boxes and store winter shoes/boots in those. Hubby says I have way too much time on my hands to do this...
I had a closet (yes, and entire closet) customized for my shoes and jewelry. I've run out of room......... I think I could still use those storage boxes as previously mentioned, though.
LoL! I can't really help on this one. I used to save all my shoeboxes but that took up all the space I need for my clothes and purses + I only want to reach for the easy ones which never get put away. Since I've moved to a smaller room, I have 2 shoe racks (one angeled 4 level for heels) and (one two level from Ikea for flats). I also have a hanging one like the one on the right for sandals and other lowe heeled shoes I don't wear so often. Despite all that, I still have boxes hidden in closet on top and on bottom, plus half a dozen for boots, etc in the garage. I need a walk-in accessory closet, Miss Mee and Kel - I'm sooo jealous!
Well I have a small walk in closet so at the back wall I have a hanging shoe rack in which fits about 18 pairs. On the floor I have a big box in which I keep all my flip flops and on both sides of my closet I have top shelf and I keep my boxes there. Stacked on one another.
i checked out the box system at the container store yesterday and you can buy them in case quantities 20 boxes for $27. i think i am slowly going to start converting my closet over to wooden hangers and clear boxes for my shoes from the container store.
$1.35 per box? not bad! gotta be cheaper @ target or someplace like that. I recently had to coint my shoes so I can move and have new closets put in. I'm going w/the cubby holes like haleybird or missmee.
Right now, I just have the in their boxes, stacked on the floor. This system does not work for me.
When I move, I plan to install the cubbies that halleybird posted. I'm a neat freak and I think it will look much better than all of the boxes piled everywhere.

I have the boxes from container store and I love them. I have them in all sizes for my tall and short boots, pumps, etc. I don't have a container store near me, so I had a couple cases shipped to my house. When I priced it out it, they were the same as similar ones at target (although the ones at target didn't have a clear top), plus I didn't have to lug em home. UPS brought them to my door I did have to pay for shipping, but it was well worth it. Although now I think I need some more.
