i remember that snl skit! i actually saw it right after my son was born... i'm "not a woman anymore... i'm a mom!!!" LOL... i loved the mom jeans logo on the leather patch at the back of the jeans.
and i will just second the post about the super low rise jeans and large middle hanging out. i see it everywhere and most times these are otherwise fashionable girls.
-schrunchies. I actually have a shirt that says "Ban the schrunchie".
-Ooh, I forgot a big one that all my teachers do. Monochromatic short sleeve polyester pantsuits. Shoe choices typically include: tennis shoes, Teva sandals, and Rockport looking shoes.
-On guys: short sleeve button downs with ties. Something about it just doesn't look right.
The worst fashion faux-pas I've ever seen was last weekend, when I saw a woman wearing a denim jacket with jeans, white tennis shoes, and a blue feather boa to top it all off

The absolute biggest faux-pas is the newest trend: baglady/bummy/upkept look. Just because celebrities(mary kate and ashley) wear something does not mean its cute! Theyve even made up a name for it, "homeless chic".

I hate it when girls squeeze themselves into clothes that are two sizes too small. I see this all the time at work and try to steer them to a bigger size, but they never listen. Today, for example, a girl was trying on a pair of pants in a 12 and she couldn't even button them, but she wanted to try on an 8 instead. And she bought the 8!! I have no idea how this chick fit into the 8, when the 12 wouldn't even close. Don't people understand that they look better when they buy their real size?

I totally agree. Also here are a few more,I think these may have been said before, tapered leg jeans especially with white scruched up socks and sneakers, spare tires and low rise bottoms, uggs with sweatpants, VPL's.

I like them too and I sometimes like their style ON THEM. The rest of us who are over 100lbs and doing this look from head to toe really look homeless. There is nothing chic about it.
I think white panty hose and white shoes (separate or combined) are the worst fashion faux pas ever. People always look dirty in them. My own mother would cut into me if I ever thought to do this.
Also I hate trend slaves. It is so annoying when people buy things just because they are name brand, i.e. the hideous Dooney bags featured in the Lindsay Lohan ads. I have a Dooney from a few years ago and it makes me ashamed of myself.

About the uggs... uggs with anything just doesn't work for me. I especially hated uggs with short-shorts in the middle of July. Just because some pop star thinks it's cute doesn't make it so.
And of course, everything else you mentioned is dead-on.

i totally agree. my husband's boss is probably close to her sixties and loves wearing low-rise pants with tight lycra tops. the result: lots of belly.
The I moved to the suberbs and don't care about fashion look!
This is what all my friends have transformed into now.
-Colored tee shirt or 3/4 button down in color with white tank underneath. -Black capris with VPL, b/c now they no longer where thongs. -Black Steve Madden Slides from 8 years ago, you know the ones that were stretchy and everyone knocked off.
same plain jane haircut jewelry- pearl earrings and no necklace, or maybe a silver tiffany necklace one silver bracelet, watch
Now these things can be good all seperately, well except VPL and the shoes, but when they are all together it is like they just gave up. I am sure this comes a surprise since I am so preppy myself, but hopefully I am keeping it more modern, or please let me know.....
