-Socks with sandals, especially with shorts. This includes hose with open-toed shoes (although I did wear fun socks or toe socks with Birks in high school, and only with jeans )

CarrieS, what does VPL mean?
Twinsets
too-short pants
flannel
Older women in rhinestone-studded Bebe t-shirts (I can accept this on teenagers)

Ha! My boyfriend calls the ones who wear little hoochie skirts in winter "slurts" (sluts who wear skirts in cold weather). I've also heard people refer to them as "darwins."
I mean I wear skirts in winter, but never anything above the knee (certainly not micro minis). And I usually wear my long cashmere coat with them or knee-high boots. I sometimes suffer for fashion, but not from hypothermia.
I can't stand nude hose; I hate it with a passion.
shiny, fake leather.
shapeless sack-like clothes. (show off what ya got!)
1. Too tight clothing, especially if it is made out of an obviously cheap fabric.
2. Too revealing of clothing, especially if you don't have the body for it.
3. Age inappropriate clothing. And by that I do not at all mean that women over 50 should start wearing "mom jeans." I mean that maybe over the age of 50 you should think about it really hard before you put on a mini skirt and Uggs.
Jeez, I sound like my mom. I guess I'm just a fairly conservative dresser.
-Older women who wear trends that are better suited for younger women. My mom has a Juicy purse (it's pretty tame though) but she would never wear some of the more trendy things meant for youner girls. I once saw a woman in her 40s wearing a Juicy smocked dress, Ugg boots and Ugg bag... it was pathetic.
-When frumpy people wear turtlenecks and necklaces... like they pull the necklace out from the neck and it just hangs out. I don't mean bold necklaces or pendants you wear over a turtleneck, but necklaces that hang out on top of a turtleneck.
-Christmas Sweaters
-White shoes... for some reason I just don't like the look of white shoes.
-Suits with boxy short sleeve jackets.
-Sun tan panty hose
-People who interpret professional business attire as something OTHER than a conservative suit.
-Leggins and a big shirt
-On men, the following are always unacceptable: jean shorts (or "jorts"), big black leather jackets (BLJs), any jewelry other than a watch and wedding ring (espcially gold chains), tank tops, tight tees, and anything made of shiny/metallic material.

ugh. i second this! hate to see people who walk around looking like paris hilton or their favorite celebrity. style is all about individuality, people- not being a slave to trends!
