So in balancing my checkbook this week I notice I am about $400 short on what I think I should have. So I go to my bank online and start checking all my transactions and see that even though I canceled my AOL account almost a year ago they have been chargin my account every month. So I've paid AOL $380!!!!!!!!!! I am furious right now becuase they money could have been used for some good shopping.

Whoa that is messed up! I would be calling the bank and showing them the cancellation notice and that they have been fraudulently (sp) withdrawing from your account and get that money back. I would also be on the phone with aol asap!
Wow, that sucks! Call and complain. They will probably try to get out of it because you kept paying it all that time, but maybe they will at least split some of it with you.
Something similar happened to me when I didn't check my cc bill every month. My cc company changed my billing date and I was getting charged a late fee every single month. By the time I pointed this out, 3 months had gone by and they took 1 month's charges off, but not the other 2. Since then, I have learned to check my bill every month. You just can't trust companies to provide you with quality service. It sucks!
Hey you know that same thing happened to my husband, we had cancelled aol but they kept charging his bank account (about $60) and when we complained to them all they offered was a couple of free months with aol - like we would still want to keep them
