I've just starting browsing on Ebay...it's new for me...but I've seen several things which I have and are going for much more then I paid for them. Do a lot of people buy things pretty cheap at outlets and stuff and then sell them on Ebay to make money? Do any of yall do that and is this a good way to make money?? Just thoughts...let me know
I am an Ebay fiend- especially since I started selling rather than buying. Oftentimes, I sell items that I bought and don't have a use for anymore. Also, when I am shopping and see designer items for great deals that I would buy or know people would, I purchase them and place them on Ebay. For example, my local Marshalls had a pair of Joie cargo pants on clearance for $20.00. I knew they were worth at least $35.00 considering they were still in style and sold for over $100. Sold them on Ebay for $60 something- so I made a pretty good profit. I have done this with other brands as well- Theory, Tahari, Michael Kors... The difference between myself and other sellers is that I don't have a set price and rarely use reserve prices (which means the item will not sell if the bid price is less than the reserve price- a Diane von Fursternberg dress I was selling for example, would not have sold for less than $100, because I knew it was worth at least that). People seem to be attracted to items whose bids start at $5.00 or below- if you know an item is worth more than you paid, it's not like you're loosing out anyway. If you ever need selling tips, let me know. Good luck!
Actually in the fall, I was looking at some sandals at delias for $3. Then the next week I saw them on ebay for $9. Plus my mom knows lots of people who go to Office Max and get free after rebate stuff and sell them. Someone mentioned that alot of the profit is made from the shipping.
thanks girls for all the help and info...i'm going home(dallas) next week for spring break so i'll try and check out tj maxx, ross, etc. and see if there are any good deals..for myself and for possibly putting on ebay!! thanks again :)
