I live in Maine cause I go to college here. I'm not unhappy at all, but I really hate New England. There is way too much snow and it's just not my style. I live in Seattle in the summers cause I was raised there and I love it.

I'd love to live in Hawaii, San Francisco, or NYC.

I was born in Youngstown, Oh were I was adopted. My family and I lived there till the spring before I turned 7 and we moved to my dad's hometown in West Virginia.


He wanted me to grow up in a safer environment and where he was raised. I love it here. It's small, but there are good people and this is home.


I go to school in another county about 1.5 hours from home so I come back on weekends.


I think I'm a city girl at heart because I'd to live in DC or NYC.

I live in DC for a few reasons. I was born here and grew up in NoVa outside of DC, and most of my friends have also ended out back here! Anyway, as you all pretty much know, my family also lived overseas in Rome for 4 years during my childhood and I went to college in MA and CO and later lived in Taos, NM and also spent a few years in Richmond, VA.. so I have bopped around a bit, but somehow it just felt right to come back to DC, and now that I am basically close to almost everyone in my family (my parents retired & now live 3 hours away, but bro and sis live here in DC) and also my best friends, I am really happy. I've debated moving to NYC, but I think maybe I'd rather just visit... but who knows!

I love the West, though (a love inherited from my Nevada native grandfather on my Mom's side) and so having a second home in Santa Fe has really allowed me to keep a foothold there. I also feel a strong attachment to Rome, still. Last time I went, it truly felt like going home, in a way (it doesn't hurt that almost NOTHING had changed in the 20 years since I left when I was 11), and so my new real estate dream is either to have a place there or to live there again for a few years when I am older.

I am definitely a city girl - though I love my parents' house in a (VERY!) rural town, so I think it helps that I get to enjoy both extremes.

I was born and raised in Brazil, but when I turned 14 my parents decided that I needed to learn Chinese (their native language) so I moved to Taiwan for 6 months.


After that we lived for another 6 months in Houston TX and then eventually settled in San Diego where I went to both high school and university.


I knew that I always wanted to experience NYC someday so when I looked for jobs I only looked at jobs in New York.  After graduating I moved to Manhattan - Upper West Side.  I love NYC because there's always so much to do and it's so quick paced.  I don't think I would ever live in a slower city.

I live in Charlottesville, VA right now because I am in grad school here.  It's beautiful, but my heart lies farther south.  I was born and raised in a small SC city.  After I get out of school, I will probably look for work in Charlotte or Atlanta.  Lots of college friends in both places, benefits of larger cities, and close enough so I can run home to my parents when I get overwhelmed by the real world.

I was born in Sacramento, went to school not too far away, moved to England for two years... broke up with my boyfriend there and moved back.  The first job I received was at my old university, so I'm still here (luckily with new, better boyfriend). 


It's not such a bad town, I'm just sick of it because I've been here forever.  I want to move to the bay area, hopefully to SF.  I really got used to good transportation and being in close distance to fun bars and restaurants in England, I want that back!!

I was born and raised in Bakersfield, California, a medium-sized city about 100 miles north of L.A.  Lived around there until I married my husband in 1998.  He's an officer in the Air Force.  He was an engineer at the time and I moved out to where he was living... Knob Noster, Missouri!  We lived there another 4 months, then he got picked up for pilot training.  We moved to Wichita Falls, Texas for 13 mos.for his basic flight training.  Next off to Phoenix for 8 mos. for specialized training in the F-16, a fighter jet.  After he graduated there, we moved to Italy, where we were stationed at Aviano Air Base for almost 3 years.  We lived in a little town called Sacile, which was a 45 minute train ride north of Venice.  Now we're back in Phoenix, where hubby is an instructor.  We'll probably be here another 2 years.  Who knows where we'll live next, but I'd like to go back to Italy sometime in the next 10 years.

I'm in Cincinnati, Ohio now and I always have been. I hate it here, except for my family, school and friends. I'm basically waiting until I graduate (this june) and then the BF & I are moving to Seattle. I love the northwest! I hate winter & love water/nature, so the midwest is not for me (you'd think I'd be used to it after 24 years). I cannot wait to move and start a new chapter of my life as an actual adult (not a student), but I feel guilty for leaving my family, especially my little sister (10 years youger than me). My mom tried to give me shit a while ago about moving "so far away," ("it will be so hard to visit you," she tried to say), but she's just nervous. She's got no room to talk; when she moved away from home, she moved across an ocean and like 3x as far as I'm going! And my little bro moved to Chicago this past summer, and they still haven't gone to visit him! (It's only a 4.5 hour drive!) I told her Seattle would be a fun place to visit, and it's not that long of a flight. I can't wait to GET THE HELL OUT OF OHIO!!

i live in Columbus OH.  i live here basically because its where i ended up after graduation.  i graduated in the year that all the marketing/advertising jobs dissapeared and struggled after graduation to find ANYTHING!  i did all my internships in the NYC area and had hoped to land there.... but you know how it goes.  i am happy in Columbus and i travel a lot with my job which helps.  and i think i might have the chance to move to NYC at some point in my career- so that helps too!

~I was born and raised in northern Connecticut.  I currently live on an island off the coast of Massachusetts - Martha's Vineyard.  I had been coming here - to Martha's Vineyard - all my life during summers b/c my dad's brother has a summer house out here.  I starting staying out here during summers and loved it.  Eventually I came back out here after college and ended up staying.  Sometimes I love it - other times I really am bored w/ it.  It is so beautiful but miss cultural things the city has to offer.  But I do work for myself and am able to get off to go to Boston or visit my sister in New York City.

I was born and raised (until age 19) in Portland, Oregon and then my fiance and I move to Spokane, Washington so he could go to school - only one of two on this side of the states that offer his program.  I really, really hate it here.  I miss the city and the culture and people who brush their hair before they go out in public.  We're moving to Houston, Texas in late June/early July when my fiance gets a job there - yay for me!  We'll probably move around a bit more in the next 5-10 years, but will most likely end up back in the Portland area when we settle for good.

After college I moved back home to the podunk town of Bay City, MI to waitress and save up some money.  The plan was to move out to The OC and live with my cousin.


About 3 months before I was planning to move I took a trip to Chicago for NYE to visit friends and I met my bf.  We really hit it off and started to talk a lot on email.  I came down to visit one weekend and he took me on a date.   After the date we were constantly on the phone because he was here and I was in Michigan.  A few weeks later he came to visit me in Michigan and told me that he wanted me to be his gf and that he didn't want me to move to CA, he wanted me to move to Chicago.


The big problem was that I had hardly any money.  I was planning to live with my cousin until I got on my feet so I wasn't going to need to find a place or have $2000 to put on an apartment.  I also made all my money on weekends so I couldn't take any time to go down to Chicago to find a place.  He said, no problem, I have money and I'll find you a place.  Three weeks after that conversation I was here in Chicago.  It was the best decision I have ever made.  I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

i graduated from college and got an *okay* job, so i'm still here.  i was born in pittsburgh, pa.  believe it or not, i REALLY miss it.   i really like the western states, and would someday, when i get the courage ( as well as $$$ ) i would like to move.

i grew up in swpa, and have lived here all my life minus a four-year hiatus in dc. we talk about moving back to dc, but we bought a house here and now that we are renovating it to be dream-home esque, i love it too much to leave. all of our family is in this area, too..

grew up and live in a suburb of Dallas called Southlake...love it there because it has everything i need, but now live in a little town of Lamoni Iowa because that's where i go to college...when i graduate I want to either go back to Dallas or live in DC or NY...but who knows!

Born and raised in Northern Viriginia aka DC... Four years in the midwest in Indiana for college. Back home to Northern Virginia for a year then moved to NYC - lived there for about a year and reversed commuted to Stamford, CT. I was then transferred to Danbury, CT which is not commutable from NYC so I moved to Norwalk, CT. I am now in the process of moving to White Plains, NY which is about 30 minutes from NYC.


Eventually I would love to move back to NYC but I am also ready to settle down and buy a house if only we could afford one in Westchester.
