Hedwig is the name of Harry Potter's owl. And my great-grandmother's name was Hedvig. So it's a family thing and at the same time it reminds me of my favorite books.

I am so happy you explained this!!  Im always trying to pronounce it in my head also.  I've broken up before too.  I thought, "SF= San Fransisco? but why clinevandy???"

It's my college nickname, because it rhymes with my first name, so I use it for passwords and stuff. But, um, I realized after this board started up that I think someone at the old FH board had it too. If so, sorry about that, I didn't mean to swipe it.
