"i tell you one lesson I learned
If you want to be something in life, You ain't gonna get it unless, You give a little bit of sacrifice, Oohh, sometimes before you smile you got to cry.." -The Roots
I've wanted that song since I was about 13. he said no, no, no, bc by the time we met it was a joke with all of my friends and he wanted something special to both of us. Then we were going thru our CD's dancing around our apt and we knew immidately if a song was no or maybe. Then, as a joke, I put in my Immaculate Collection tape(yeah, not even a CD) and we started dancing and there I am crying. Who knew? So he said if it is that important to you....and I had no idea it would effect me like that. So...it's perfect. We have been taking dance lessons....turns out the Rhumba goes well to the song.
I'm not married, nor am I getting married anytime soon but I have some thoughts on a perfect first dance song.
Blue Eyes by Cary Brothers is simply breathtaking.
The Blower's Daughter by Damien Rice makes me a little weepy sometimes.
At Last by Etta James is just so perfect! Overdone, but perfect.
And then my all-time favorite is Can't Help Myself by the Four Tops. You know, "Sugar pie, honey bunch, sugar pie, honey bunch, you know that I love you, can't help myself, I want you and nobody else..."

That is my favorite song. I always wanted it to be my weddimg song, but I am so afraid of being cliche and like everyone else that I probably won't pick it.
