my mom called my yesterday afternoon and told me my grandmother was admitted into hospital. apparently she fell a few weeks ago and cut up her foot very badly. she hid it from my mother, and tried to take care of it on her own insted of going to her dotor. well wednesday my grandma fell out of bed and when my mom went to help her up she saw my grandma's foot was all red and bloody. my mom took her to the dotor and they had her admitted into the hospital, here her toes were turning gang green underneath. the infection got into the bone, so they are going to remove half of her foot.they are operating on it this afternoon. this may not stop the infection and they may have to take her leg. they are also worried the infection got to her lungs and she may have pneumona. there is a chance she may not make it threw surgery, but if they don't amputate half the foot she will die. i am skipping school today so I can see her before surgery, because there is a good chance she won't make it.If you pray please say a prayer for her.

My grandma made it threw surgery, but they are still concerned about the pneumona and have started her on inhlation therapy for it. She had half of her foot removed and they drained the infection out of the rest of the foot. the plan is to wait 3 or 4 days, and if the infection is still bad they will remove the leg from below the knee. so all we can do now is wait and see what happens. thank you all so very much for your prayers!

Oh my goodness, cat - my thoughts are with you and your family. She certainly sounds like a tough lady, and I am betting she'll pull though this with flying colors. I am v. sorry that they've had to remove part of her foot.
I know how hard it is to have a grandparent in the hospital, and it sounds like your family is pretty tight and will be there for her. Hugs from me to you.
