I work for a large-ish (500 employee) company, however, I work in a small (15 employee) satellite office. Big office politics fired one of our 15 employees, and the office is really hurting about it, because we are a pretty close knit group. So, I need a morale booster.
I was hoping for an affordable option that I could do either tomorrow (Friday) or Monday with my own money. And I'm also looking for other ideas that I can execute with the company's money within the next week or so (it doesn't have to be expensive or large scale, but they do have a lot more money than I )
If anyone has any suggestions, it sure would be appreciated!
Could you do something like a lunch snack? Maybe get some bread and dip from a restaurant or something similar to just bring to the office for everyone?
One thing that is common to do is to let everyone off at 2 in the afternoon on Friday for them to finish the workday at a local bowling alley and the company picks up the tab for the bowling, pizza, soda, and beer. You could do something like this from 2-5 - allowing them travel time to the bowling alley and enough time to bowl and eat. Expecting people to show up after work for something like this doesn't go over well because it cuts into their personal time and people may feel obligated and resentful. If you make it part of the work day it's easier for them to relax, enjoy and team build.

I will do it during the work day, after work participation with this group is near impossible. I like the bowling idea. A beer and rented shoes (yikes) may be just what they need!
