I was hoping one of you ladies could help me with this. I have around $95,000 out in private student loans (from undergrad) and its time for me to repay now. I wanted to consolidate my private loans through citibank, but they aren't a company that consolidates loans. I was wondering if any of you know any other good banking companies that will consolidate private student loans? thanks so much!
Have you looked into Sallie Mae or Nelnet? I am not sure if they do private loans, but they are both reputable companies that will really work with you on your repayment. Good luck!!

Sallie Mae stopped private loan consolidation last year. I don't know any companies still in it. Be careful with these loans. There really aren't many rules on the private loans, in terms of fees and interest and grace periods. Lenders have become VERY harsh, since most people who went to private loans had poor credit ratings (or in some cases could have qualified for better terms but were steered to the private loans by the schools). There are a number of class action suits. You might want to google your lender AND servicer, to see if there are any suits or protections you qualify for.
Whatever you do, don't fall behind in your payments, because they rolled back bankruptcy protections a couple years ago.
