way less, and not only because of the "economy"... I have started to realize that I dont need to buy something just because a) i like it and b) i can. I really should be putting more money into savings, instead of buying clothes, make-up, bags, food, etc that i will either give away in a few months, never use, or throw away. I'm trying to be more environmentally conscience and more in touch with the reason behind my desire to purchase (i.e. do i NEED this shirt or am i bored, feeling low, etc)

I'm spending about the same. But last year I started the policy of asking myself if I really love an item before I buy it. If the answer is no, then I don't get it, even at a really good price. I find that I buy a lot less junk that way and save more money over all.
i was spending about the same, but in the last month or two, i've been on a major ban, so i'm spending basically nothing. the only things i'm buying are absolute nessecities. hopefully, i'll be able to be back to normal in a couple months! :S

I am spending about the same on beauty. I bought 2 drug store mascaras and hated them, and decided buying what I knew and loved from Sephora was cheaper than guessing at the drugstore. So, Sephora has not been impacted by my budget yet! I did find cheaper shampoo/conditioner though.
As for clothing, I am spending less. In fact, I am not buying much at all. Most e-mails I get advertising a sale or special are deleted before I can be tempted. Before I took my new job I bought quite a bit of new work clothes, so I do have some new stuff. But, I intend to really stretch it. I have plenty of clothes. I kept track of my workwear, and went 6 weeks without a repeat outfit (I did have to rewear pants, naturally, but not tops) so I can't complain. I need to unload and not replace!
Sadly, I spend at least as much if not more, because I've added household stuff to my list of things to shop for. Oh, and let's not forget the bathroom remodel, and the fact that I'm hoping to remodel my kitchen soon. Ha, and then I need to replace all my interior doors and front door. Sigh.
I'd say probably about the same, although maybe a bit less. I've started buying a lot of beauty/health care items at the drugstore, and I've found a lot of products I like way better than the same items at Sephora.
I also don't buy anything from anywhere unless I either get free s&h or some percentage off. The only exception was the floor lamp I recently purchased and came broken. I should have known no good could come from $30 s&h.
I've also started buying a lot of clothing from cheaper stores, like Target, and ON instead of Gap. Although sometimes this leads me to think I can buy more...
I still tend to take back probably 50% of what I order. I should prob. start shopping in stores instead of online, but it's more convenient (at least until I have to drive to the store to take stuff back).
I started buying the Sunday paper too for the coupons, which helps me save a lot on things I already buy.

Ditto. We're pretty conservative spenders in the best of times. I think most of where I've cut back is beauty products--I don't really believe the hype that more expensive automatically equals better quality, so I've cut back there a little.
