I think I've finally found some girl crib bedding that's reasonably priced and that I can live with (i.e. no cartoon themes, animal barn pics, etc.). It's by Dwell and the good thing about it is that I can mix and match the patterns. I really have been looking for something minimalist and chic. So I've decided to combine my two favorite patterns, the picture of them together is shown here,
I'd rather it be lavender, but I can live with the pink and it least it will go with my melon green walls.
First question--do you like it?
2nd question--should I add a small dots (they're tiny) pattern into the mix (in the same color) or would 3 patterns be too much?
3rd question--could I add some light yellow in the nursery to tie in the green and pink so that there isn't too much pink? Or would pink, green adn white be better?
4th question--Most importantly, I need to recover a rocking chair and don't think I can buy extra fabric in any of those patterns. How likely is it that I will find something to match? Would I have to do a solid color? If so, what about a light yellow (solid) for the chair upholstery with a throw pillow in 1 of the patterns (they do sell little throw pillows)
PLease let me know your feedback, I really want to get this bedding purchased but I want to make sure it will work and I will be able to easily design a cute nursery with it. Thanks!!
I just found another sheet set I like and hope that you guys can tell me which one would be cuter. This site will make everything for you, you just choos the fabric, and they have extra fabric available so I could cover my rocking chair in something that matches exactly. Okay, here it is:
I'm looking at the lime dots, candy stripe and suburban pink all together. I would probably do the bumber in the candy stripe, a tailored straight bed skirt in the lime dots and the sheet in the pink (or vice versa). I would then cover my rocking chair in the candy stripe and then get a throw pillow made in the lime dots. The lime color here is brighter than the honeydew color on the walls, but I think it will go okay (I hope).
I think I like the second choice better(the Javis Davis)---I like the Dwell but I love the candy stripes---(SO FUN!) and the dots together plus you could get fabric to cover your chair. I like it so much, I might even think about using that myself but I already bought a rug at Ikea in brighter stripes when we didn't know the sex.
Mikacat--Thanks so much for your response! I'm glad you like the 2nd one better b/c I am really leaning towards that. I think it will be a lot easier to do and just as cute, hopefully. This site seems to be really reputable, I've done a few searches on other forums and ppl seem to generally be content with the quality, etc. They used to sell their fabrics etc, to Neimans and other high end dept stores, and their prices are great. You should check it out, you might be able to find something to match your IKEA rug.
I love the stuff from IKEA that you posted. My hubby and I love IKEA and I just showed him the lamp you suggested. We have one near us too and were planning to make a trip there anyway. Thanks again and it's good to hear from you!
