project runway finale *spoiler*

YAY!!!!!  I am so happy jay won.  i was so happy for him that i started tearing up. his collection was so cool (except for that shredded dress he had julia wear -- i thought that was slightly hideous) -- i loved the graphic-y stuff all over the pieces.  he is so funny and cute and he totally deserved to win.

this episode made me dislike kara saun and not want her to win.  she was such a spoiled brat about the shoes -- i think she got a little cocky and started to act like something of a diva-designer.

parker posey seemed to add nothing to the mix other than her big hair.

was it just my tv, or did there seem to be a fuschia halo over jay's head during the final runway?  maybe he really is jesus...

I too was excited for Jay to win. I started routing for him more after the stunt Kara Sun pulled...I didn't think she should be rewarded for trying to cheat.

I can't stand Wendy..she has zero talent I really think they kept her in the competition to make it more interesting television..

I'm really looking forward to Jay's line..I PRAY he keeps it real and it doesn't end up being some watered down crap you can find at your local department store.

While watching the show today it occured to me that he looked familiar..I think I've been at a couple of his fashion shows in Philly..

Yay!  I was happy Jay won too.  Kara Saun was portrayed very witchy in the finale.  The whole shoe stunt and her general lack of maturity in terms of dealing with Wendy (I know she doesn't like her, but please not talking to her at all--I mean in life we all have to deal with people we don't exactly like, but you can be civil) really turned me against her.

I know it isn't popular, but I don't think Wendy is that bad.  Her daughter is adorable.  I don't like her clothes and I don't think she is a major talent, but she isn't as hideous as she has been made out to be.  She's very competitive and she chose to tell the truth (re: Kevin) when it might not have been popular, but that is life.

In terms of Jay, he is the only one I felt originality from in the show.  Kara Saun's show and most of her clothes were Gucci/designer knock-offs...though I did feel Baby Phat a couple of times too, Wendy's show was a prom dress catalog review, but Jay's show was heaven (I'm still lusting after the art deco dress he made for the BR challenge)!  I also loved the skirt part of his finale dress, but the top and necklace were a bit too much!

I absolutely agree on both acounts. I was rooting for kara saun until the shoe tantrum. Wendy's designs did suck overall....but drama = ratings, i guess.

I really guessed that Kara Saun would win - according to all the previous shows.  After I saw the finale and the collections - I thought Jay was going to win it.  I was glad he won it.  His collection was very innovative.  It had a lot of personality.  Kara Saun's collection all kind of looked similar.  She used a lot of the same material - leather and fur.  Where as Jay had so many different textures and colors.  I think it was obvious that Wendy Pepper's collection was marketable and wearable to many - but it was lacking a lot of originality.

I'm glad that they put Wendy Pepper in a better light last night.  I'm sure she is a nice person.  Kara Saun seemed like the brat and bitch last night.  Although I'm sure there was a lot of pressure from the show.

I'm happy Jay won.  He really deserved it.  It's great to think he went into this for fun w/out any thought of winning.  He comes out the winner.

I read an article on Jay winning the show, it said he has a line out called Maitatoo, but I can't find any pictures?? My favorite outfit was the blue poncho, he uses the best colors.

yay! I'm so happy Jay won. His collection was so creative and I think he had such a great attitude throughout the show. He really deserved to win. I wanted Kara Saun to win until the shoe incident- I can't believe she thought she could get away with getting shoes for free, and then for $15 a pair!

i'm happy for jay... how can you not love jay? he's witty, honest, creative, interesting, and from bumfuck, pa. i loved when they went to his house and he was sitting at the sewing machine, in the dark, with his cigarette. i loved his show, and the personal touches in it (the quilting, the headphones), and i loved the colors despite what michael kors said about dyed-to-match. i liked karasaun's show, loved the luxe looks, but they were right when they said it lacked her personality and was too costumey/dervivative. she'll still make it as a designer. whereas if jay had lost, i don't know if he would make it.

did you guys go to look at austin's show? bumblebee mentioned it--i tried to go to bravo's web site but it was too slow, but if you go to www.gettyimages.com and do a search for austin scarlett you can see his stuff. i didn't like it much. a million times better than wendy's though. and was i the only one who, when michael kors was like "wendy! that see-through blouse just wasn't you!" was thinking, guess MK hasn't been to her website!

i haven't watched the finale yet (it's waiting for me on tivo when i get home tonight) but i kind of guessed that maybe jay would win anyway--and i'm so happy--i love him!  he kind of reminds me of alexander mcqueen crossed with galliano (in terms of personality and being really unafraid of being innovative, artistically).  and i think that's what american high fashion needs--someone who isn't afraid to go out on a limb and take big risks.

while i thought all of karasaun's things were beautiful and so well-made, i think she is a bit "safer" artistically.  it seems to me like she will be a tracey reese or a jill stuart (or even a michael kors)--someone who makes really beautiful, feminine things that are commercially very successful but not going to cut a new artistic path like a galliano, etc.

and wendy, whatever.  i think her 15 minutes are just about up.  she's no great talent, but will maybe be able to get a job in-house for a dress designer or something.

This is exactly why I was soo happy to see Jay win. I think Kara has mass appeal whereas someone like Jay would only get a break if he won something like this. I LOVE LOVE LOVE his work, it's soo funky and fresh, the quilt coat he made just beautiful, that skirt with the circle appliques, the dark blue sweater. Designers like Jay make fashion fun.

I'm glad anybody won but Wendy!Jay deserved it and his damn sense of humor had me laughing the whole season. I was disapointed that Kara pulled her shoe stunt. But I  know she will still go far, though she may have acted like a brat, she was consistent, and all in all I think shows a lot of professionalism in her work esp. when working w/ clients.

yay for jay!  LOVE him.  he's always been my favorite personality on the show, but i actually thought kara saun would win and i was rooting for her until the shoe incident and how immature she was acting towards wendy.  totally turned me off.  kara saun's collection was beautiful, but like someone posted earlier, too derivative.  i thought it was so funny when michael kors told her that her dress looked like gucci and she was like. "i've been doing this for years!"  uh-huh, yeah kara saun,  i'm sure GUCCI copied YOU.  ha!

jay's collection was so fresh- and i loved his "stereotype" theme.  he so deserved to win!  yay!!!

i loved that JAY won.  i was rooting for him, kara saun and austin scarlett to be the final three... but wendy the whore had to be in for ratings... grrr...

i was leaning towards kara saun until the shoe fiasco as well... i feel that jay had real raw talent that just needs to be harnessed and he will become a great player in the fashion industry.
