I guess you find in insulting that your hour glass figure is being associated with people who actually carry more weight than you. I believe its a euphamism. Personally, as a size 12/14 I prefer it to FAT COW and other descriptive words that some prefer.
and not to speak for tara123, but she was saying that you can be a ( i'll use GAP as my example ) size 0 and be curvy or be a size 14 and be curvy. you can also be a size 0 and be long and lean as well as being a size 14 and be long and lean. no complaints about bieng plus sized, just saying that the way to describe a fit of jeans shouldn't be about your volume or wieght. it should be waist and inseam or something like that.
That's what I'm saying. I'm really sorry if it sounded offensive or mean-spirited, because that was not my goal at all. All I'm saying is that "curvy" is a shape, not a size. It would make just as much sense to call all slim women "big busted" or all large women "small hipped." Those two things sound silly because they are silly - your size doesn't dictate your shape. And I think calling all plus size woman "curvy" regardless of bust/waist/hip/etc ratio is just as wrong as calling all size 0 women apple shaped. To jump off of an idea that tara t brought up, I think that having a "curvy" jean style is a great idea, as long as it means they fit women with a more dramatic waist/hip ratio, and as long as it doesn't just indicate that the jeans are above a size 12 (or whatever).
It's just semantics. It's something that gets to me, and it has nothing to do with the size/shape of my own body. I'm all about not calling women FAT COWS. I just don't think misusing that word, which plenty of women of all dress size could use to describe the shape of their body, is the right word to use.

Totally agree with the curvy thing. I hate the misuse of that word. On a side note, Levi's are making "curvy" jeans now, starting at size 0 by the way, and they fit me really well. I've always been curvy, I was bigger before, but I'm down to a 7/8 now and THANKFULLY I still have my curves!
Oh, I am over Old Navy, The Gap, Banana Republic, and J. Crew. ON & the Gap, the quality is not that great, but the sizing is so big, it's crazy. And BR & JC, overpriced for what you get.
And, I cannot STAND clothes with no waists, especially dresses. I have an hourglass shape and I want to show it, I don't want to look like I'm wearing a friggin' potato sack!

I'm over malls. I was at West Farms for like 2 hours today and could not find anything for Halloween that was cheap-ish! Not even at forever 21. WTF!?!
Interesting thread! To each their own (and I'm an admitted Anthro fan).
I am SO OVER:
1. Peplum/cropped jackets that I can't find the right things to wear underneath. 2. Loving to buy belts but I can NEVER find a cute regular belt that fits in my jean belt loops to hold them up. 3. Paying $10-15 for Hanky Panky thongs (which I do love). 4. Always getting VS coupons and cards and never having them when I want to use them (or they've expired). 5. Cheap patent leather or fake/cheap sued shoes. 6. Pants that are too tight at the waist but super big on the thighs/butt. 7. Having to hem ALL my pants and jeans. 8. ACRYLIC. Need I say more.

Oh, I thought of another huge one: SHOPPING ONLINE! The last 10 times or so I've bought stuff online I've had to return EVERYTHING. I just need to bite the bullet and go to the store.

Ditto - I usually take back between 1/3 and 1/2 of what I buy online, but I just hate shopping in stores. The people, the sales associates, the crowds at the mall, etc... makes it way easier to shop online!
I have another to add to my list:
MY roommate. I cannot wait until next summer, when I will finally be rid of the idiot.
