Yeah, I've heard the online ones are generally inflated as well - they usually try to make you buy some more 'in depth' analysis or something, don't they? I had an IQ test when I was 18 and taking a psych. A-Level in London - the real ones are much more thorough than the online ones, or so it seemed to me.

The only thing I'm sure of is that my IQ is above 135, since that was the benchmark score for kids who were gifted in my school and I was in the 'gifted and talented' program.
I've scored as high as 160 on some fo the online tests but I'm inclined to believe that they're just a bit inflated. It's just not possible.

ditto - I've scored 170 on an online test before - I'm guessing it's a bit inflated... I have this sneaking suspicion my life would be a bit different if the score was accurate :)

i was in GATE too! i never knew how i got in, it seemed like they just walked into class one day & were like "come w/ us"... that was when i knew i was a nerd!
I did have my IQ tested -- I have a couple of friends who are school psychologists and they had to test people as part of one of their internships. I can't remember what my exact score was... I put down 130-140 because I think it was 132. It was in the middle of their "gifted/above average" range but below "genius" or something.
My friends say those Internet IQ tests are bogus because there aren't enough control factors or something. Also, a lot of them offer scores that are not even on normal scientific IQ ranges.. I like them, though. They make me feel smart!
