So my FSIL's stagette is this weekend and in honor of them getting married in Hawaii, it is Hawaiian themed.
I want to dress a little with the theme but not so much that I have to wear a costume. No grass skirt and coconut bra for me, thanks. I was thinking about wearing a tunic dress from ON, over pants since its been cold and raining. I'me just not sure about it, is dress over pants a fashion fauxpas now? The tunic is yellow with tropical-looking flowers, I'd wear it over navy cotton pants. Sorry I couldn't find a pic but the tunic is shaped like this, not quite as baggy...
I don't want to have to buy anything since we go on vacation in less than 2 weeks. I also could build an outfit around some bright JCrew cotton pants I just got. Other than that I don't really have anything "tropical" in rhubarb (not as bright IRL) or this color green
honestly, I've never been much a fan of dress over pants. I'd do footless leggings with it before I'd do pants. And unless the party is outside, you don't have to worry about the cold and rain except going to/from!
It'd be cute if you pinned a flower behind your ear, too
