i am so happy this has gone on sale! so when i first saw the pink one, it was LOVE--i just think it's different-looking and pretty. but, the color is so light and the look of it is very dressy, so i don't know if i would get much wear out of it. i really like the black, too, and it's definitely more practical. what do you all think? i can only afford to get one.

i know some of you have the black already. the thing is that i work in a fairly casual environment, so i don't get that dressed up during the week. any ideas of what to wear either of these with, besides the obvious (jeans or the matching black skirt). thanks!
edit: i realize why i adore the pink one--it looks like that gucci one from a year ago or so that showed up in every magazine.
I really like the pink one-like you, I think it is very different. I actually think the black seems more dressy than the pink. And I think the pink could be very versatile, as it goes well with many colors. You can definitely dress it down with the shirt, pants and shoes you wear with it.
pink, because i think that's the more statement piece out of the two and i love the idea of the color - very cute and fun.
but then commit yourself to making it work in your wardrobe by being sure to make up some pre-canned outfits you can throw on easily, this'll increase your wearability of it. when i buy something like this, i make myself wear it - absolutely push myself to - and it helps a ton in making it a worthwhile purchase.
I love, love, love the pink. I can see it with jeans, grey herringbone pants, brown tweed pants, a black pinstriped pencil skirt... pretty much anything!
oh wow! i thought everyone was going to say "go for the black." the pink is much more of a statement, so i guess that's why i'm a little afraid of it--the black seems safer because i wear black all the time.
bean, thank you for the idea on the gray or brown trousers--great idea.
any other ideas on what to wear this piece with? colors it would look good with?
I love the pink one, and it sounds like you wouldn't be as happy with the black one. I would pair it with something like this (with a pretty cami) to tone down the look a bit:

they're olive. i'm a big fan of denim skirts so i also think it would look cute with a denim pencil skirt in a dark wash, kind of polished but not too dressy. this one from james is cute
i'm not sure how this would play out in real life since the cami has detailing (studs) but in my head i'm thinking that the studs might toughen up the jacket just a bit (though it could also look totally off.)
again not sure how it would look in real life, but it might be worth a try. the cami is from urban.
