Can i swim in Florida in October??
Permalink Closed

So my bf travels for his job and is stationed in ft. lauderdale for a while. I wanted to come out and visit him since the company will pay for my plane ticket and hotel stay. I have a choice of going next week, or i can go in a month, so it would be the middle/end of october. I def want to go swim in the ocean, bc i havent been to a real beach in forever. My question is...is the water too cold to swim in by october?? I have only been to FL in the summer months, and in april before...and april was def too cold to enjoy the water. Would it be better to go next week instead? I looked up the weather forecast and its supposed to rain all of next week prob due to the hurricanes....so im thinking about october more now. Any advice from FL ladies?

You should be fine. And even if the ocean is a little chilly, you'll be okay in the pool.
