The acting was excellent, but I thought the plot was just okay. The dialogue is natural and everything but I didn't think the storyline was that compelling. It's more character driven, which makes it even more heartbreaking a movie. It's very tender but very very very sad - I didn't really come away with anything afterwards - I sort of felt like it was a lot of emotional investment for very little payoff, if that makes sense...but that is just me - i'm sure others came away with more that i did. Hillary Swank is really excellent in it - first movie I saw with her in it and I was very impressed.
if you are asking about the plot, if you don't know, it's about a 30-something woman from a poor family who has always dreamed of becoming a boxer and convinces the owner of a gym (Clint) to train her for the big time. It's just about their relationship and her rise to the top of women's boxing.
