Eyeshadow base recommendations?
Permalink Closed

Hi girls,

I was wondering if someone can recommend an eyeshadow base.
You know, the stuff that's supposed to keep your eyeshadow longlasting esp.
for moist (?) eyelids.

I'm currently using Waterstix by Trish McAvoy.
I like that it's in a rollup container so I don't have to dip my finger into
a jar and smudge the product over my eye. I'm super germophobic and
that freaks me out when I need to reapply. It does a superb job in keeping
my eyeshadow in place all day but the texture is not so impressive.
It's a bit heavy and doesn't glide over too smoothly.

I also bought a small jar of F.Y. Eye by Benefit. I like the texture but it
doesn't seem to hold the shadow in place for a long time (I mean, like, all day),
also don't like the finger in the jar thing.

I once tried an eyeshadow base from Laura Mercier.
It was in a container with a wand where you apply the product with it.
After a few usages, I discovered the product started to discolor and
develop this weird smell. Tossed it out.

If you have a good product that you're fairly happy with, I'd love to hear about it.
Thanks!

Usually I wet my eyeshadow brush a little and apply my eyeshadow semi-wet, it stays on forever though. Just use like 1 or 2 drops of water..

LORAC's Lip & Eye Neutralizer.  I think it's discontinued, but you might still find a few in stores.

Otherwise, try MAC Fast Eye Response (great base & eye de-puffer) or one of their paints.
