Do You Use a Mousepad?
Permalink Closed

My boss wants to have made new mousepads with our department's advertisement on it (to distribute to students and college departments), but I am not sure if people use mousepads as much anymore.

Do you use a mousepad?

If your current mousepad disappeared, would you replace it?  Would you buy a new one or just use a freebie?

Thank you.

No, I don't. There's a mouse tray at my work station at work and it's really smooth/padded, so I don't need a mouse pad. At home I just use a laptop.

I use one with a wrist rest.  I wouldn't use a freebie since I like my desk color coordintated.

ETA: I think pens, notebooks, sticky pads would be more used.

I don't think mouse pad are a good idea. My company just quit giving them out a while ago. Most people have laser mouses these days and don't use a mouse pad (I use a paper-thin one that sticks to my desk just because my desk is shiny and my laser doesn't like it). For the past couple years, no one would even take them from us because no one uses them.

I haven't used one since I've had a mac laptop (4 years ago). What about koozies? Those always appeal to college kids! wink.gif

I use a wacom tablet. When I'm not using it for drawing, I can use the mouse on it.

Nope, I don't, but I have a laptop so I just use the trackpad (aka, no mouse)

I think there are better ways to appeal to college kids than by mousepads. I think most college students use laptops anyway, so mousepads aren't really necessary anymore.

I haven't used a mouse pad in years. Being a college student myself, I think maybe some pens would be a better freebie.

I have one for my desktop but it is a rare occurrence for me to actually use that over my laptop.

How about highlighters? That was always my favorite freebie in college since I highlighted everything. They have these cool ones now that have flags in the barrel that you can use for marking pages and such. They also have ones that erase that I picked up a few years ago at a college fair that was awesome.

No longer use one.

It would be much more expensive, but earbuds?

Good idea, Suasoria.  Thanks for the input, ladies.

yes, I do use a mousepad -- it looks like an oriental rug. I have an optic mouse, but I don't like the feeling of it scraping on a hard surface.

a tchachki (custom premium) I like getting (and every one else I know) is either a memory stick, or a small optical mouse with a retractable cord.  Both fit nicely into a laptop bag, and are convenient and useful.

Wow- I didn't know they made/sold those mini-mice. How cute! Thanks.

I don't use one at home. I just use my cordless mouse right on my desk. At work they gave us all a freebie one that you could slip a pic into, so I use it but don't really need it. The earbuds were a great idea! Another idea is a coozie...I'm sure college kids could use that biggrin
