stress and breakouts?
Permalink Closed

My skin had been looking great for awhile now (a couple of years) but in the past 3 weeks, it has just gone mad! But I have been under tremendous pressure and stress.

Could it be the stress or am I destined for bad skin like when I was a teenager?

Stress does that to me. Don't pick at them! They'll fade in about two days. And it might help to think back and see if anything changed in your diet, skincare or haircare routines. I have a conditioner that I love, but it makes my back break out (yuck!)

Nope, it's stress. I find that whenever I am feeling overwhelmed it shows on my skin. I have found that trying to make some time for me and paying extra attention to my skin helps. I generally book a facial, I find it a great way to relax, plus I am helping my skin out too.

Also make sure you are getting enough sleep and drink lots of water.

It's definitely stress. A few years ago I started a new job and I was under tremendous stress. I have never broken out in my life--just the PMS pimple. Suddenly, I broke out all over my cheeks. I freaked out. Four dermatologists and three facialists later--everyone said the same thing--you're under waaaaay too much stress.
My only advice is do not pick at it and do not let anyone give you harsh facials/extractions in response. Don't go overboard with the creams. It'll only make it worse.
