Edited to pare down photos - i'm definitely going with a simple veil.
Try to ignore the flabby arms and back (will be working on those!). The bust needs to be taken in and flattened, and the dress will be hemmed. Otherwise, I'm pretty pleased. It's a very simple dress. I need some ideas for jewelry. Also, I may take these photos down after a few hours (I'm a little photo-shy), so if you reply, please do not copy any of the photos into your reply. Thanks.
I tried on two veils, and I am leaning towards the non-frilly one. What do you think? What about the flowers in the hair under the veil concept?
It's gorgeous! Oh, how I wish I could pull of an A-line skirt! And you're right about the veil - the less frilly one is nicer and is more in keeping with the simplicity of your dress. The flowers are a little hard to see under the veil (I'm sure it's better in person though) - can the veil be pinned under the flowers instead?
Something like this would be nice if you want to keep the entire look very simple:
Or these if you wanted to go a little bolder:
If you're a fan of the bare neck w/ strapless look, these are gorgeous:

You look gorgeous! I like the simple veil, it suits the dress better I think. I really like the idea of multiple strands of pearls. I think Halleybird did this at her wedding?
you look so beautiful! i too agree about the non-frilly veil. and i really like the pearl necklaces maddie posted, especially the 2nd one. i think they'd be a really nice touch.
DCS - I rarely read/post in this section but I had to post here...the dress is beautiful (I love the simplicity of it - I really, really dislike froofy, overly-fussy wedding dresses) and you look beautiful in it. Seriously. I actually got a little pang looking at your pictures and trust me, it takes a lot to get me sentimental over weddings/matrimony. You were only trying it on in the store and you are already the glowing, blushing bride. Awww.
Love the first necklace Maddie posted as well...

awwww, thanks you guys! you're making me feel all warm and fuzzy with all the compliments. While I think the dress is the most flattering one I tried on, I have gained a little weight over the years & I'm a little self conscious, so it's nice to hear your nice comments.
I'm definitely going with the simple veil. My mom liked the frilly one but I think the simpler the better since there are going to be a lot of elements to the outfit - bouquet, veil, flowers in hair, and jewelry.
Everyone's jewelry suggestions are also on the money. If I wear a necklace, I think I'd definitely go with something like Maddie's first photo. I'm debating wearing studs and a necklace or just a pair of really great earrings but don't want to have too much going on around my head with the veil and other bridal paraphanalia.
anyway, you guys totally made my night, so thanks for your input!
p.s. you would totally laugh if you could see what I was wearing UNDER the dress - a pair of nude biker short type thingies to smooth things out! very sexy, let me tell you.
I love your dress. You look beautiful. I like the first veil and I think that flowers underneath can work as long as they don't mess up the lay of the veil. Congratulations, you look great!

thank you - it's kind of a soft white, i guess. before dress shopping, i never knew how many shades of white and ivory existed!
First of all thanks for posting the pictures. You should be so proud you look absolutely stunning in that dress. I am really digging the pearl necklaces that Maddies posted.
