i've been using a lumene one from cvs but i don't really like it. i can never find one that i like, so i'm looking for recommendations...i feel like nothing ever takes it all off (mostly it's mascara left behind, and i don't wear waterproof)...

are you looking for just eye makeup remover of the whole face makeup remover? My old roommate used the Benefit makeup remover for her entire face. I use sephora eye makeup remover for my eyes and its really good (don't get the express kind though, get the other one)
It says it can be use for face and eyes, but I only recommend using it on your eyes because it's a little too moisturizing for my whole face...I'll break out it if use it on a daily basis on my t-zone.
Like Grace, I also love Philosophy's Purity Made Simple. It takes everything off without drying out your skin. My husband makes grout so he comes home covered in heavy pigment and it even takes that off without having to scrub.

My mom has used this for as long as I can remember and swears her life upon it. She's 62 now, but people still think she's in her forties because her skin is in such great condition. Her skincare routine has included this, which I believe she uses more like a toner. I used this myself when I was 17 at her insistence and it works very well, although it does have moisturizing properties that made it a bit much. Plus it has a distinctive fragrance that can take some getting used to (my mom's vanity literally smells like this stuff...)
Because my skin is more problematic and acne-ridden and oily, I prefer Philosophy Puirty Made Simple. It even takes off my heavily pigmented MAC eyeshadows and shadesticks without a problem. And I like how it's a makeup removed and a face wash.

ditto. Although I'm looking into trying out Philosophy...
I use Dermalogica eye makeup remover. I have really, really sensitive eyes and it's the only non-greasy, effective formula that I've been able to find that doesn't irritate my eyes in the slightest and it works really fast/well.
I use this because I hate feeling like I still have mascara on. I use Waterproof and it removes it all. Now if you don't like the "moisturizing" ones they also have others to choose from. Cheap too! http://www.almay.com/product.asp?subcatID=60&productID=5054
