Oh Lord. Aren't you just supposed to be able to say "I'm sick" and that's sufficent? Or is it personal days when you don't really need to provide a reason. I remember when I had went through employee orientation at my firm they told us something like that so I usually just call up and say that I don't feel well and my boss never asks any questions.

I don't think that they are legally allowed to ask specific questions. But I do believe that employers can require a doctor's note simply stating that 'So and so is sick and will be unable to work for said period of time.'
My aunt got a call from this woman (one of her aunts has died at least three times) she says.......
"I can't come in to work today, the police are on their way, my dog was assasinated."
WTF? I love animals...........but he was assasinated? What is he JFK or something?I would have just said my dog died.My aunt says she's a liar and REAL DRAMA QUEEN.
My friend works with this slack-ass who constantly has excuses why he was late or away. His most recent: "I was late b/c I saw a guy get hit by a car on my way in and when I tried to help, he died in my arms. "
Strangley it wasn't in the paper or on the news. Hmmm...
