Help me with a decision please.

I don't want to work in this office anymore. It's just too much confusion, no one knows what their job is. I don't want to work with these people anymore. And this alleged new job is just now my old job with more responsiblity and no more money.

So, on February 23rd I can start looking for a transfer. However, with the wedding coming up I dont know if that is a good idea. But it will take several weeks for any transfer to go through.

So should I start looking now, or wait until after the wedding. Also keep in mind that I have school starting in June.

I just don't know what is the smartest way to go about things. And I have the flu.

Are you worried that you might lose your current position if they find out you're looking for something else?  If that is the case I would look, but not apply at this point.  The last thing you want to happen right before your wedding is to lose your income!

Or are you worried about getting a lower starting salary, or maybe not being able to get time off for the wedding/school?

Then I would look now, but wait to apply or show interest in anything until after your wedding/honeymoon.  That way you can start fresh somewhere new w/out having to worry sooooooo much about jeopardizing your current job, as that could put a serious crimp in the wedding.  Hang in there!

Wow...I'm really surprised they are not paying you more.  One of the perks of getting a new job is that you get a pay raise.  I mean, even $2000 would have been nice, right?  One thing you have going for you right now is that you get to put "business analyst" (that's the title, right?) on your resume instead of Executive Assistant.  If you interview out of company they will never know it is really the same job with the same pay.

Unless you are so unhappy that it is pouring over into your personal life, I would say try and wait it out until after the wedding.  I don't think you should add something as stressful as job-hunting to your life while you are busy planning your wedding unless you have to.

Yeah, I am definitely out of here. I will wait until after the wedding, but I don't want to work with this group anymore. Funny thing is I just found out in my email that my boss is giving me a raise, but she wants to talk about the feedback in depth, and honestly, I don't want to hear it. People here complain too much about everything. I never do anything right, but they want give me a raise? Oh pahleese. I am so done. I don't even want the raise.

What exactly does a business analyst do?

Oh I was hoping this was going to work out for you.  Just sit tight with a quiting countdown until after the wedding and then make a move. Might as well get paid for that time off. I would start looking for external positions though just so you have an idea of what is out there and you can get back into the swing of applying and interviewing again if you haven't for a while.
