I've been wanting to try green eye makeup for awhile now.. not because it will compliment my skin, but solely because I just like green as a color (what a geek I am). Sooo, I bought this fat crayon from Sephora today, and just tried it on.. and I'm not quite sure what to think (I'm asian, medium skin). It was only $5 so no big loss, but if you wear/would wear green eye makeup, how would you wear it, and what kind of clothing would you wear it with?

I'm Asian too with medium skin. I love green to but I try to stay away from kelly greens and generally go for warmer, brighter greens.

I've used the eye colors in the beaming poppette compact from Pop Beauty with success for a more subtle eye (subtle to me is bold to most people though).

I also love MAC's green eyeshadows. I use "swimming" which I guess is a very limey green with sparkles. MAC describes it as a "scintilating sea green". I'm also in love with their shadestick in Lucky Jade, which is a bit more of a golden-y green and looks great on Asians.

I wear my green eye shadow looks with springy bright colors (sometimes matching, sometimes not), or relatively neutral outfits.

(and return the crayon to Sephora to get your money back! they'll take it back! )

I have a Rimmel Shadow Duo in Bavarian Green - a lighter limey-mint green and a slightly deeper limey-olive green.  I usually do my regular makeup and then use the lighter shade to highlight the inner half of my lids and use the darker shade on outer half.  I have hazel eyes, so it makes them look really big and green without being really obvious.

I have green eyes, and I guess you aren't supposed to wear green eye shadow with green eyes....but I do, and I think it looks great.

I use NARS cream eye shadow in "Carioca"

It is very shimmery and subtle - and it goes on really well b/c it is a cream.  I am not asian, but I have medium skin.

I have this from Stila and I love it...

I'm completely retarded about makeup and so this is great.  It's liner and shadow together, so you already know you've got a good combo and it's simple.  The color looks really good on me, but I'm Irish and very fair skinned with blue green eyes.  It brings out the blue in them.

missbean, I have that sephora pencil in green too! mine looks lighter than that pic, but I think it's the same color since that is the only green the pencil comes in. I also bought it because it was such a pretty color!

I'm asian too. when I want to use the color subtley, here's what I do:

I use the pencil to line my upper lid with a thick line. then I line my eyes normally (thin dark-brown line) and put a little light brown/taupe shadow underneath my "brow bone," just barely above my "crease." I use those terms loosely. you know what I mean.

when I go all out, I cover my entire lid and a little beyond with the green. then I line underneath my eyes with it and blend slightly, making sure there's plenty of the color on the inner corners of my eyes. that looks really pretty. then I line my eyes normally, apply mascara. I also powder my lids with either face powder or a matching green eyeshadow since the pencil is very creamy and would smear otherwise.

oh I forgot to add- you can wear anything with this kind of makeup, except that I would avoid green so I don't look like those chicks in the 80s who would match their outfits to their eyeshadow.
