Has anyone found a 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner that works well enough for those days when you have to get in and out of the shower quickly? I have my natural hair color right now, and my hair is thick. Would I be better off shampooing in the shower and using a spray on conditioner at the vanity?
It depends on your hair type. Supposedly there is no such thing as a 2 in 1 because the act of washing cancels out the act of conditioning. Basically a 2 in 1 is a moisturizing shampoo IMO, and most times they are not moisturizing enough.
I think 2-in-1's are total ripoffs - shampoo is supposed to be washing everything off your hair and conditioner is supposed to deposit the moisture - there's no way something can effectively do both, IMO - I do think they cancel eachother out. If you're in a hurry, I would quickly wash my roots at the beginning of the shower, and then put some conditioner on just the ends of your hair and leave it on for the few minutes you do the rest of the stuff - washing, shaving if you're doing it, etc - it's better for your hair to only wash the top half and condition the bottom half - and quicker to rinse out the conditioner too - especially if you have colored hair, you'll do better to wash only the top half
I haven't found a 2 in 1 that works well either. I usually put in a hair serum in my hair after the shower as well. When I'm in a rush I'll skip the conditioner and throw the hair serum in my bag and put it on in the car. If you buy a leave in conditioner, you could probably do the same.
