My birthday is on the 9th. I never seem to get presents because my family is always broke, the soon to be ex would rather die than help the kids shop for me, and my friends and I don't exchange gifts. Well, I figure I'll buy my own gift/gifts this year with your help of course. I would like to spend between $200-$300, tiffany's is ok, i'm a size 16, a size 9.5 in shoes, handbags are always good, basically I'm open to any and all ideas. What would you buy for me???
happy birthday! gosh i don't know what i would suggest. i would probably put the money aside for "rainy day" purchase when you find something fabulous!
I would spend half on experiences, like lunch, pedicure, concert, museum etc. and spend the other half on a nice piece of jewelry or on some luxury bath/beauty items.
I'll trade you my ideas for your hair. OK? I'll just give you my ideas now, I expect you to hold up your end of the bargain...
I'd get an hour-long massage (because massages are the best thing in the whole world) and the rest on something awesome that you'll be able to use frequently, like:
I can't paste pics, but this dress is so gorgeous and I think you could wear it to so many things:
Or this, it's the same dress with longer sleeves. I personally like the 3/4 sleeve version best, but I think this color would look gorgeous on you. Plus you could have it tailored or get the sleeves shortened with the $$ you save because this version is on sale:
Since that red color is so nice on you how 'bout a bag in the same shade:
(Monsac cross-body, $118 at endless.com)
Some hot shoes to match (Jessica Simpson Neona, $78 ditto)
And then I thought of something else fun - a print suitcase that will really stand out on the airport carousel. This one is indestructible polycarbonate (International Traveller, $112 at bagsforme.com).
First of all, Happy Birthday! I think you should be a little indulgent! Here are some ideas:
How about doing afternoon tea with your girlfriends? I did this for my mom for mother's day and it was great-it was very indulgent but in an affordable way. I'm not sure where you live but it was about $30 per person for us. I would suggest going to a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton and make it an event. Dress up, and take your time. So much fun and something you wouldn't do unless it was a special occasion.
It is $175...or maybe you could consider starting a charm bracelet?
I would also take a chunk of money and spend it on some fun, small things like itunes songs (maybe make yourself a "birthday mix"), a bottle of wine or spirits, a fun lipgloss from Sephora (and pick up some fragrance samples while you are there) and a yummy candle (I like the ones at Anthropologie).
