facial moisturizer

my huge bottle of aveda hydrating lotion is about to run out, and i'm looking for a new facial lotion. i love the aveda and i would buy it again if i don't find anything else out there, but it seems a bit pricy to me... $62 for 17oz.

i have very normal skin (not oily or dry), but a bit sensitive. most moisturizers are too heavy and make my skin feel greasy and some "sting" my skin when i apply them.

has anyone tried the l'occitane facial skin care products? last time i was in, the sales girl gave me a sample of the olive oil facial moisturizer which was really nice (although i'm sure just as, if not more expensive than the aveda).

just looking for some recommendations or other ideas to try.

I have pretty much normal skin too and have always used Oil of Olay. It's really well priced and never feels heavy.

I'm also looking for a good moisturizer. I was using the shiseido benefiance line, and it was just too greasy. It totally made me break out. I have normal/dry skin. My friends tell me clinique's dramatically different moisturizing gel is great. It is oil free too. I ended up buying the DDF moisturizer this weekend, so far its ok. Its not greasy, but I don't know if its worth the money either. I might return it and get the clinique one.

See the Mario Badescu thread.  I use their moisturizer, which is quite light and moisturizing.  And the best part is that it is only $22.

I am a huge fan of Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer... I use the one with SPF in it every day.

I'm in Love with Shiseido Pureness moisturizing gel-cream. I have basically normal skin and a little bit of acne and this is wonderful because it moisturizes where you need it but its not greasy or heavy at ALL. It feels wonderful going on, lasts forever and makes your skin feel immediately soft and fabulous. (I had been using cetaphil and this is a Drastic improvement). It is $30 though.

I'm in love it this too. I guess I have combo skin these days. This does not make me break out at all. It's not greasy like the Benefiance line at all (I use the Beenfiance eye mask because the skin around my eyes is dry and prone to being lined). It feels very lightweight going on. And yes, I raved about Cetaphil, but this works much better with my skin for most LA weather. The Cetaphil is great when it's cold or the Santa Ana winds are blowing, but otherwise it's too much. (Admittedly, I would probably use the Cetaphil if I was in NYC right now)

It's just that I go through a jar a month because I feel like I have more face area tham most people or something. I do not mind spending money on skincare, but for me to have a years worth of Pureness...(the jar is supposed to last two months with normal usage)

$29x12=$348

it's probably cheaper to buy Creme de la Mer at that rate.

I've been using Perricone's Face Finishing Moisturizer & love it.   A 2oz jar costs $50 & can last me almost a year since I use it as my daytime moisturizer.  No breakouts & IMO, it works just as well as CDLM.
