Thanks, girls. I just got off the phone from the interview. It went okay, not stellar, but whatever. The woman kept cutting me off and didn't let me speak, so I feel like I didn't really get anything across to her. For example, she asked me to give her a summary of my work history and I had barely gotten a sentence out when she was interrupting me and I kept losing my train of thought. She also was apparently not listening when I was speaking b/c I had told her that my degree is in Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising with a magazine journalism concetration (more than a minor, but it's hard to describe). It's not like I'll get the job anyway, so I'm not too worried about it.

I went through that once, too. He would ask me a question and then interrupt me before I got a chance to really answer. I felt that maybe they already had someone in mind, but had to go through with a certain amount of interviews anyway because he certainly didn't have any interest in hearing the answers to his own questions.

Was she a human resources lady? Sometimes they call you on the phone and ask you a few things, but really don't know enough about the position to get into detail. They are just really looking to verify your resume or something.

Good luck! I wouldn't say it is a lost cause (unless, of course, you are not interested).

Yeah, she was a human resources person. She didn't really tell me about the position. It really felt like she was just screening me about things on my resume. It was so annoying b/c I would start to talk and then she would interrupt. It was like she couldn't wrap her head around the fact that I graduated with the degree that I have, work in retail (not in my field) and also have side gigs of jewelry design and fashion writing. She just couldn't get that someone could be multifaceted and-gasp!- not be working in the field that they majored in in college. So irritating.
