I have a curvy body with a high waist-hip ratio (probably these days 27-38).

What's worked for me in the slightly lesser-known world. (sorry about the huge pics)

True Religion: I like the Joeys best. Most low rise jeans aren't low rise on my because I have a short torso, but these actually are (but still tasteful). Plus my legs look really skinny because of the twisted seam.

Rock and Republic: They're just cool. I love the Scorpions best. I have never tried on their basic jeans, but I also assume that they're great. The stretch fabric they use is really comfy and they have funky styling, which I am always looking out for since I don't want to own ten pairs of jeans with virtually the same exact styling.

Salt Works: Great basic jeans. The Mulberry St. and Avenue A are great basic cuts, but I like the Orchard St. best because of the flattering flap pockets. Plus, pricewise, they pretty much top out at $130, which is dirt cheap in the designer jeans world. The legs are really long as well.

I will probably try Paige Premium Denim sometime next week and see how they fit. Paige just came out and there's some info on her at www.dailycandy.com. She has a very curvy body as well (I think she's 36-27-37, so I'm very much interested in her stuff). Also, I heard that Hilary Duff likes them a lot and I tend to take jeans cues from her because our bodies are very similarly proprotioned.

I just noticed that Lilykind and I have totally different body types (I am a classic ruler - skinny with no waist, no butt), but the exact same taste in jeans

I have said it about a million times on here, but I love love love Salt Works Orchard Street. So versatile and long, plus they fit like a dream. I tried the Avenue As, too, but I like these better.

I have them in genuine (left) and polished:

Also really like my True Religion Bridgets:

I want to try the R&R scorpions next, but I don't need any more jeans, so it will probably be awhile.

Well, it looks like I am being totally unoriginal but the True Religion Joey's and the Rock and Republic Scorpions are IT for me right now. Both really look good on my body type (5 foot 6, very high waist:hip ratio, long-torso and average length legs).

Lilykind, if you try those Paige jeans please give us a review! I've been eyeing them on intuition for awhile, but have been hesitant because I haven't heard anything.  I have the same kind of build ( 5'2 about 36-27-39.....but it's mostly in my hips) and these seem like they'd flatter well.

The dark wash (polished) came from anthropologie and the lighter wash I got from revolve.

I love true religion because they are soooo soft and comfortable and the rise is perfect for me. I have the same problem as Lilykind- most rises are too high for. supposedly this happens when you have a short torso, but I never really thought I had a short torso. I even did the test where you measure from your hipbone to the bottom of your ribcage, and my torso fell into the medium category!

anyway, I have the tr joeys:

because of the way the pockets are long & low, they probably look better on the more bootylicious, but I love them anyway.

I also have the Bobbys in medium vintage. they are my new favorite jeans. I love love love them.

this chick definitely has a long torso. look how HIGH her belly botton is!

Lilykind, I LOVE those rock & republic jeans! how is the rise on those? they look higher than TR's.

bean, the R&R scorpions have a higher rise, though not much higher (maybe an inch?). Defintely lower than Sevens. It hit not too far below my bellybutton and it was low enough for me, but not as low as TR. I have no gapping or plumber butt issues with the R&R at all...which if I'm not careful I can have those issues with the TR).

(I'm really starting to think my bellybutton was placed lower than me than on other people...)

hmm... that doesn't sound too bad then. maybe I will try them out in a couple months (hubby says 'you just got 2 pairs of great jeans. chill.'

I'm sure your bellybutton is normal  seriously, this revolveclothing model looks like her pipick is placed about 4 inches too high.
