The hair has got to be for a role. I saw an even worse pic of it on perez. As far as the jeans - I don't like it, myself, but if you stopped rolling them in the 6th grade, it's probably about time that it will come back into fashion ...
I think its for her new role on Eli Stone. US had a photo with similar hair/make-up. Apparently she's playing a non-profit lawyer on the show for a few episodes. I love that show.
As for the outift.... YUCK! I too was hoping the real outfit was underneath. The shoes with the pegged jeans looks crazy.
hey - also see how she is hiding her hands? Perez showed another picture and her hands are PURPLE! Hope I'm not offending and Scientologists here, but she allegedly did a purification ceremony where one takes "vitamin bombs" to detox "(this sounds true, I know Scient. promote the use of vitamins) anyway, apparently the amounts of some of the vitamins prescribed are up to 142 the TOXIC amount! uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wow that is scary. I feel really really sad for people who are taken by that and subject their body to it.
i read in one of my million magazines, that baggy jeans were going to be all over the place this fall... they did not mention the jeans were supposed to be pegged, or wearing them with socks and heels. ick.

I think the relationship with Posh has soured - this looks so much like a girlfriend's backhanded revenge, "No EVERYONE is doing that thing with the jeans and the socks. Darling you can totally pull it off!"

This isn't true. Well, her hands may be purple but it wouldn't be from the purification rundown and no, they don't take toxic amounts of vitamins.
The pic looks to me like they are Tom's jeans and for some reason she is covering up her outfit underneath. Probably doesn't want to be photographed in her wardrobe from whatever show she is guest starring on.
The way the media plays mind games with us sure is something to marvel at.

Hey - Can I just ask how you know that? I don't think this is purely "media games," and how do you know the levels of vitamins are not toxic? This isn't the only instance where it has been noted that the levels of vitamins are a concern to nutrition specialists, and there are many incidences where odd colors DO happen, and Scientologists in face acknowledge this, believing that the colors indicate radiation leaving the body - also the person's sweat turns an odd color and they offer this as proof that something positive is happening.
Besides that, L. Ron Hubbard himself heavily promoted the use of Niacin, saying that it is the best substance to flush the body, and it is documented that more than 2-6 grams per day (depending on the person) can have side effects of "flushing," kidney failure, and arrythmia, among others, and I wouldn't find it a far cry to believe that any two week program advocating the use of large amounts of vitamins at one time could have strange side effects. For example: When I take B vitamins, my pee turns bright bright bright yellow - like glowing. And that's just from one B complex pill in one day. That is a common side effect of taking B vitamins, because that's my body ridding itself of what it can't use. I'm sure other vitamins have different ways of manifesting themself if the body is given too much - our systems simply weren't made to handle large amounts of vitamins directly - they were meant to be obtained from our diet. Supplements are called that because that's just what they are - supplements - for when your body doesn't acquire what it needs through your diet, for whatever reason (Western diets are particularly deficient and some vitamins because of the processed nature of what many people eat.) Anyway, I don't know that the levels are toxic, but I do believe her hands are purple because of the large amounts of vitamins she is taking (and if you don't believe she is taking large amounts of vitamins, just check out L. Ron Hubbard's book Clear Body, Clear Mind - or look at nydetox.org - a program started by Tom Cruise in NYC for the 9/11 firefighters. Here's an example Quoted from the page " Patients at the detoxification facility have stained towels blue, purple, yellow, orange, green and black."
I'm not saying that this program is bad, but it seems like a dangerous concept to me, and I'm wondering how you can definitively say that her hands wouldn't have turned purple or that none of the vitamin levels are toxic. L. Ron Hubbard was no nutritionist, so I'd be wary of listening to his advice for what levels of this and that to take. The idea is intriguing though, and I might seek out someone who has been educated in these matters to find a detox program that would be safe for me.
I only have a second but here is a link that might answer some of your questions. http://www.purificationpgm.org/page03.htm
Vitamin intake is strictly supervised and every person starting the program has to have OK from a medical doctor.
Ok -
So from this link, it looks like the purple hands are very much a possibility as a result of the program. Here's another quote (which is in line with what I posted above)
"During the program, she secreted a black substance through the pores of her skin as chemicals were flushed out of her body."
I don't see anything about needing an OK from the doctor ... but maybe that's just something not documented anywhere online.
Yeah, secreting toxins is possible. Just like with those oriental foot pads I've been seeing on TV recently. Don't know what they are called...
It doesn't make any sense that it would stain her hands though. Sweating it out, sure, but staining the skin? I don't see how that's possible. The toxins leave the body, that's been medically proven. They don't stay in the skin.
