i didn't enjoy this week's episode as much as i have some others...although i am glad to know the background of the michael/walt scenario.  next week's episode looks good though...clare's back, but i noticed they didn't show her belly.  think she's still pregnant?  and what do you think this black rock place is?

i missed the first half of this episode but think i'm all caught up...and are they showing a repeat this week?  it looked like it from the previews.

i liked the walt/michael story...i wonder what the deal is with this kid's weird powers?  do you tihnk he can cause weird things to happen by just thinking about them?

and what about the little plane toy that Kate stole from the bank vault from the previous week?  i'm interested to see how this will all unfold.

btw, is this just a one-season show or will it be a regular show?  i don't see how they could sustain such a great plot for more than one season...

This episode was so-so. I wasn't ever super interested in what Michael's story was.

I missed last weeks where they explained Boone's story, so I'm not sure what went down, but he seems really creepy all of a sudden. He and Locke have this really weird relationship now.

Did they ever figure out what that metal plate was that they happened upon? Or are they still sneaking around trying to figure it out?

...anyway, I want to know about Hurley! He cracks me up. I love how Michael was all stressed out and serious and Hurley's just like "Uh, Dude? Your kid's gone."

I think that kid does have some sort of powers, remember he was reading that bird book when that bird crashed and died into the glass window. The stepfather thought he was weird and wanted nothing to do with him.

I wonder if he was playing with that toy plane before the actual plane crashed. As far as Claire goes, I'll bet she is no longer pregnant and the other people I suspect are on the island who are tied to that French woman have her baby.

What about that hatch they found? Think it's a spacecraft?

I love this show but man it's like a freakin' soap opera!  They barely get started into the story and there's commercial.  Then they're back on for 1 minute and there's another commercial!  And isn't it too soon to be playing re-runs?  They did this through the whole month of December too!

Anyway, as for Walt's 'special'-ness, maybe they're all special or extraordinary in some way and they were all fated to end up together on this island?  I'm glad Claire's back, but she didn't look so good and I'm sure there will be all sorts of crazy plot twists once they get Claire to reveal her knowledge of the 'others' who took her.

I think they are overdoing the suspense-factor a bit - it's becoming almost painful.

I really enjoyed this week's episode.  I thought the Michael/Walt backstory had a lot more payoff to it than Kate's with the toy airplane.  I'm wondering if Walt has any clue that he is different - and how exactly is he different anyway?  If he caused the bird to die and the polar bear to appear, then did he also cause his mom's death and plane crash?  I agree with LMonet, this suspense stuff is starting to kill me!  They are raising too many questions and not answering enough of them!

p.s. no new Lost until Feb. 6 !

I'm wondering this too.  I wonder if they were put on the island because they all had some kind of weakness, and they can overcome it on the island - Locke and his wheelchair, Boone and his sis getting it on, Michael being a bad father, the hobbit's  drug addiction, etc.  Locke seems to be realizing this and trying to force people to face their weaknesses or something.

or maybe the whole island is an illusion...or whatever is on it can change form...since it made Boone see his sister die, but that didn't really happen...the polar bear...i dunno...

I don't think that Michael is/was a bad father.  Walt's mom was a selfish B and she took him away from his dad.  It seemed to me that he wanted nothing more than to be a good dad to him.  How sad was it when we realized that Michael loved Walt so much that he didn't want him to think bad thoughts about his mother or stepdad so he took the blame for them.  What about every letter that Michael wrote to Walt that his mom never gave him?  I'm glad that they finally bonded.

BTW, you are too funny DCS, "the hobbit's drug addiction".  That poor guy wil never be anything more than a hobbit to us will he? HA!!!

yeah, i was writing too fast...michael wasn't a bad father, i guess i meant to say his relationship with his son at first was pretty strained (for good reason).  i have to say that my eyes *may* have slightly watered at the father-son bonding moment at the end of the last episode.

yeah, what's the hobbit's character's name, Charlie?  hey, i'd be willing to get called "hobbit" if i was getting the royalties he's getting from LOTR   I get confused b/c my fiance keeps calling Jack "Charlie" (from party of five).

it was weird seeing the hobbit do drugs, though.  v. disturbing.

i loved this episode... i've been curious about michael/walt's backstories since michael looked at the box so lovingly & then hid it when walt came thru (in the cave a few wks ago).  this backstory was the most touching & actually made me tear up several times due to personal experiences w/ my dad & half brothers (their mom is a B too).  i watch it at work tho because we r all too busy wed. nights so someone records it & we watch it at lunch.... i think if i had been at home i'd have been balling!  anyways, most of my coworkers think clare did not still look pregnant, esp since the psychic said something was after her baby... i think the black rock/french woman people took the baby.  i'm glad boone is standing up to shannon now... such an unhealthy relationship!  also glad locke got the chance to help michael & walt & prove himself to michael so they can all be friends now (i hope).  charlie bugs me w/ his obsession over clare.  can't wait till feb 6th!

I love this show! But I do wish that they would start answering some questions b/c there are so many that are unanswered.  I guess they have to get through everyone's backstory first. I think that the only one left is Hurley. I love that guy. He's hysterical ("Uh, dude..."). Hehe.  I can't wait to hear his story.

I hope that that thing they found isn't a space craft. If this whole thing turns out to be an alien plotline, I will freak out and never watch the show again.  I am so sick of alien plotlines. They are hackneyed!! I remember watching "Dreamcatcher" and being so disappointed b/c it ended up as an alien plotline. Stupid. But I digress...

I don't think that Claire is pregnant anymore.  Also, about Walt, he was reading that comic book with the polar bear in it and then the polar bear appeared on the island. He's a creepy little kid (hopefully, he won't start chanting 'redrum' anytime soon, but he does remind me of the creepy kid from "The Shining").

I would think that this is going to be a regular series.  There are so many possibilities after they start revealing more things.  These people will have to adapt to life on the island, form a new society, battle the rock people, ect (it's a sci-fi "Gilligan's Island"-hehe). Anyway, someone said something about getting Charlie confused with Jack. I do that all the time b/c Matthew Fox's character on P of 5 was Charlie (he'll always be Charlie to me ).  I love this show. I am glued to the tv every wed night.
