Hey NYC gals - my boyfriend and I are headed to a wedding in NYC this weekend. The wedding is Friday night, but we are staying through Sunday evening. Saturday, we are planning to see the Yankees (I was born and raised a die-hard Yankee fan).
Anyway, this is one of my dream experiences and I'm very excited to get to see them in the current stadium before they move to a new one next year. That said, we are trying to determine if we should stubhub the tickets or if there will be plenty of scalpers out in front of the stadium. I am not sure of the regulations on scalping or general availability. Any ideas? TIA!! I don't want to chance not getting tickets, so if it isn't really easy and accessible to scalp, then we will definitely order!
jah-We went to a game a couple of weeks ago, but it was my first game there so not sure how much help I can be. When we got off of the subway though I didn't really notice anyone trying to sell tickets, but there may be people that you just have to look for.
It was my dream to go see the stadium before it closed as well so that is one of the reasons we went to NYC this year. If I were you though and I really didn't want to miss the game I would just buy them through StubHub to be on the safe side. You could take a chance and possibly get good seats from a scalper, but if you only have one day to see the stadium one last time I think I would play it safe and have the tickets when I got there.
Thanks joy0302! I decided to buy the tickets... just like you said, didn't want to chance it. I bought them off ebay from a seller with 100% feedback. The feedback mentioned the seats I bought were really good (and they were less than 50% the price of the same section listed on stubhub - woohoo). Anyway, they were overnighted and are to arrive tomorrow at my boyfriends office. Can't wait to see the stadium/game!
