I'm seeking out the collective's opinion on this one. How do "we" feel about brooches? Are we over them or are they still doable? Are they up there with ponchos (which I refuse to wear now after a trip to Dallas where everyone and their dog had one on)? Just curious about everyone's opinions!
I wore brooches and pins before they were the "in" thing. I think grouping a bunch of gaudy brooches for the sake of being in style is over. But a tastefully worn brooch in either a traditional or unique way still looks classy.
I've been wearing brooches for so long, I love them and consider them a classic piece of jewelry. It's all about how you wear them that can set them apart from what was done with them last season.
i agree with the other ladies. imo brooches aren't going to go out of style but that whole "look at me i just read the latest issue of vogue and they told me that i should pin a bunch of brooches to my lapel like a constellation of stars" is dead. in my humble opinion.
This is how I gauge things now...everyone I work with is over 60(which you can be stylish after 60, but they are so far from it)...I work in a small gift store and we carry some accessories. Well last summer I was all about us getting some brooches in, they weren't too keen. Well now after their last trip to the mart, they are all about them, and they just got into ponchos...so that is when I know that I am over something.
