My mom is really big on making her own beauty products. I have been doing this for a about two weeks and I really shiny hair from it.

Juice from ½ lemon
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 cup water

1. Combine all ingredients in a pitcher or jar and mix well.

1. Shampoo and rinse hair as usual.

2. Pour the mixture on your hair and massage into the scalp and through the hair.

3. Rinse thoroughly with cool water

I've heard mayo and also egg makes hair really shiny.  There is actually a great book I gave my SS for xmas called beauty magic (used on amazon for $9 I think now) anyways it has all kinds of beauty recipes like this so if you and your mom are into this kind of stuff you might want to go to B&N and check it out.

I have looked at that book a few times, but never purchased it. I think I will tonight. My mom is into it more than I am. I try the stuff to humour her- but sometimes she finds stuff that really work.  I have heard about the mayo and eggs, but I fear it would just make my hair more greasy.
